I've had a Woodland Mills HM 126 since 2007 and it's paid for itself over and over during that time. I have the smaller engine (9 hp) and that Kohler engine starts every time with a single pull even after it has set for months. Other than oil changes and a spark plug it's needed no maintenance over that time. If you set the mill up right it produces good lumber and I've milled pine, cottonwood, oak, walnut, locust (black and honey), hackberry, elm, ash, and osage with it. The 7 degree blades make a big difference with the hardwoods.

My 126 is a 2016 and it is a good investment but even better the woodland folks are always ready to help with technical support or parts.

Larry & Brock thanks much for taking us along and explaining the features and benefit's of the Woodland Mills sawmill. I own the WM WC68 chipper and am very satisfied with their quality and after firewood the natural progression is a bandsaw mill. Larry I went ahead and subbed to your channel, looks like you have some good content. I’m already a sub with Brock. Thanks again 👍TCT

Great video! I've been dying to get out and use my sawmill, but the snow has been so deep I couldn't keep it clear. I just dug it out the day before yesterday when it warmed up some. Now today, it's raining! It's supposed to snow again tomorrow and drop to below zero after that. Crazy weather. Spring should be here in a couple months, then I'll be back to work for sure.

Great video, a key thing that was mentioned was the handling of logs until you deal with logs and realize the weight of this stuff, the price of a mill is one thing, the price of equipment to handle it is quite another.

Yeah, that is true A lot of the videos on my channel are about compact tractors so all my regular viewers pretty much have a tractor. I have a tractor and a skid loader.

Very good review. If I was to buy the HM126, I would get the 14-horse motor as well. As far as sawing large logs, you do need to be able to handle some very heavy logs.

Replace the metal log stakes with wooden ones. I used oak. You wont ruin your blade when you saw thru them. They can be any length.Wood works fine. I have my saw setup on a concrete pad. I didnt get the trailer. I had a bandsaw before and it never was moved. I used it for personal use. The adjustable legs make it stable enuf. I use a brow to put logs on. bridges from the brow o the mill. I dont have a grapple loader for the tractor, just forks. You need a rear counterweight for the tractor.

From my research woodland mills is the best quality for the money. The only thing I think you will find is you will need the 30 max and even at that size you have some big diameter tree's

My farm has a couple of old collapsed barns. As I clean up the debris I keep finding old "actual 2x4"s and they look funny to me. The main beam was a 12x12 with all wood joints, no metal (unfortunately not termite proof). Although in some of the smaller wood like shelves and stuff I did find some rectangular nails (not wire nails). Shame they let it collapse, altho I probably couldnt have afforded the place if it had a barn anyway. I had intended to replace the barn with new, but just as I started that process, COVID hit and a $40k barn became $80k :-(

  • @RockhillfarmYT

I know this comment was two weeks ago but I definitely don’t go around buying the cheapest equipment all the time. The package for my skid loader was $100,000. That doesn’t mean that I can’t point out a good value in what you get for what you pay on the Sawmill
