I'm so glad Woodie got a skill tree. Most people don't give him a second thought due to his unique but lackluster abilities. But having a skill tree that builds on his mechanics AND makes them more manageable is great. It might make him a little easier to play, but there's more skill involved and a learning curve to him specifically

Woodie's skill tree's are a prime example of how skill trees should be structured, they offer new things that grant the character more utility, as well as a skill pathway that allows them to master something in their respective kits, finally, these skill trees should make the characters strengths stronger while mitigating the existing weaknesses by a fair amount. I certainly hope that these skill trees could accomplish what Woodie had accomplished here!

I really like the ability to choose between the forms. some of the other skill trees like wurt's have 0 choices other than the affinity. so at that point what is even the point of a skill tree? just make it base kit. if you add a skill tree it should be to make choices between abilities.

Probably the only viable time you will fight enraged dragon fly naturally, which is pretty cool and neat.

Glad to see the weremoose is finally useful, the health regen and chargue cancel really help the transformation to be a viable option for battles

I think it would be cool to look at some beefalo synergys wormwood has with beefalo's with his right(and indirectly left) skill tree perks. The sword and armour skill effects work on a beefalo if you have the respective brightshade sword/armour equipped, and i think salad manders would be useful to tank with a beefalo.

Remember guys you can set up a training dummy for when a boss retreats so you can still be fighting something and not have your meter drain

@@KIBeGostoso Yes, but you may aswell get out your were form to heal if possible, you can still do it without healing food well though i have seen it done but may aswell get a few blue caps to play it safe.

Dang woodie is done with everyone calling him and F tier.

you can also animation cancel the third hit of the weremose to get your dps a bit higher, i wouldn't do this against everyone, but against regular dragonfly you can actually get 6 hits instead of 5 meaning also meaning 2 empowered hits instead of 1 every rotation, and that's really nice! (if you're not tanking of course!). source :【ドンスタ】Weremoose vs Dragonfly (skill tree beta)【DST】(channel name is しゃわさん). thats where i got the info from but they might not have been the only ones to find out about the animation cancel, nor the first one.

to animation cancel you should just have to move at the right timing, as soon as the damage comes out.

Moose and beaver finally are able to chine, but I would add a tweak to goose making his fly go on a specific direction in exchange of meter like wortox, or make that it reveals the phat from point A to B when randomly flying

woodie finally got the buffs he deserved

Poor Weremoose got a pretty signifficant nerfhammer. So did Wormwoods Saladmanders with both documented and not documented changes..

can't wait for the other skill trees. I love maxwell but .. am terrible at the game and always end up getting myself dead with such a low starting HP. hoping there will be something in the skill tree that improves survivability since... well he can already do everything else so well. If it's just 'your clones now chop trees faster' that will be lame as heck since they already clear a forest in seconds. Heck even if it just lets me start with nightmare armour on spawn again.

His top hat is OP storage early, his cage can stop any mob ever, he can scare mobs for a decent amount of time to pick them off one by one and then some! I think you just might need to learn how to play him a bit better my friend - don't take that the wrong way either! 😅

@@TheBeard777 ​ yeah I just need to actually craft armour, or at the very least stop trying to solo multiple level 2 spider dens naked. because i'll always get greedy and go for oooone more den thinking it's empty just for a warrior to pop out and do 30% of my hp. I'm not very good at combat in DST but refuse to learn that lesson and assume THIS TIME I'll be able to dodge it all. Still though. fitting with the theme of them adding talents that should just be baseline, I hope one of the lame talents he gets is just giving him nightmare armour on spawn like he used to have. For most players it'll be a change as significant as.. butterflies not fleeing from you. But for noobs like me it'd be the difference between dying day 14 and making it day 200 >_>

@@Maximise07 dodging multiple enemies at once stops being a skill issue after ~4-5 spiders. they are just too numerous to dodge reliably with auto target being dumb and stunlocking and lag factored in. could you do it? yes. would it be inconsistent and resource inefficient with MUCH better strats existing? also yes! traps are available to everyone and extremely fast. simply place down 9ish traps, punch a spider, circle the traps picking up spiders and misfired traps and replacing said misfired traps as you go and voila. tons of monster meat silk glands and spider eggs. shadow duelists kind of such against groups. if going for group killing i'd advise either to pick stuff off one by one if it's an option or using some method of aoe damage (like a friendly moose/Abigail for instance) hope this helps! i am also a fellow maxwell enjoyer and i have died to spiders enough times for my friend to make fun of me for it so i understand your struggle 😅

Look how Klei massacred my moose-boi (recent patch) 😭

When using that many damage buffs and with the new healing one could definitely follow dragonfly while killing larvae for extra damage or just kill them to remain in moose form. Like what are the larvae gonna do? Deal burn damage that gets reduced by 90%?

I think you're underestimating fire damage. The protection is physical, not over time effects.

@@TheBeard777 The weremoose doesn't have armor, it has damage reduction for every kind of damage. As long as you are not standing in the flames from larvae that have exploded you'll just have one source of fire damage on you that is reduced by 90%

couldnt you just punch the walls so the meter wouldn't go down?

Beard777 is there anything special the beaver tail slap can do? Also do you prefer shadow alignment or light alignment for Woodie?

Instantly digging up, mining and destroying stuff is all it does which is great but I don't think it goes beyond that all that well.

With no official word from them yet - not even to us Ambassadors - I imagine we'll have another week of MAJOR Skill Tree adjustments and then it will release towards the end of July.

When does this update come out and how are you playing it now? I already thought woody was cool but I’m still learning the game so I haven’t played him much at all,

Yup, we have no idea yet. Klei has told us nothing so I imagine they'll either force it out this week or take it to really adjust stuff then push it out next!

Given his Tree and everything it can do, he's in the conversation at the very least.

First he can summon giants at his will, now he can hire a chef to cook some spicy zappy jelly and all of a sudden can out-DPS wolfgang with a dark sword using the same setup… Which probably isnt true so pls fact check me
