One thing's for sure: the best tool for making a shaving horse is another shaving horse.

Going to make one tomorrow from logs i fell last week. Cherry and walnut with vine maple for spindles

Wood used is aspen, no reason to use it it just happend to be available. It works ok for fast/simple build.

Thanks. The log building is a sauna that i made (there are few videos on our youtube about the build).
