A great woodturning project for getting started woodturning.
In this new woodturning video I am using up leftover piece's of tree branches for an easy woodturning project. This is a great project if your new to woodturning. It's an easy project to practice woodturning tool techniques and it will help build your confidence in wood turning.
The tree branch is a left over piece of pine.
The project is an egg cup. Since Easter is tomorrow I thought this would be the perfect time for this woodturning holiday project.
I sanded it to 500 grit and finished it with friction polish.

A nice little piece. I tried your trick at the end with a skew chisel, got a catch and destroyed the piece 🥲. Better luck next time. 🌞

I'm sorry to hear that Ray. I hope you didn't get injured. I would suggest not trying that unless your well versed with the skew. When your doing that technique the only part touching the wood is the tip. I would suggest practicing the slicing cut and the v cut. Those are the techniques to learn well that make doing that possible...and more importantly doing it safely. Remember you can always make another project, but there is only 1 of you. Take care buddy!

Good idea, im a beginner wood turner been turning for about 3 years,I have a question, what do you do with all the sawdust?!

Thank you! Most of it I burn in a sawdust stove for heat. It also works to mix in the soil of a garden if you have one. Thanks for watching!
What was the length vs width of this wood?

I didn't measure but it was about 8 in long and 3 inches wide.
