I have to admit, when I started watching the video, I was like why the heck are they digging so deep for the foundation but after seeing how high this thing is, I can understand. Great job guys, you are true professionals who take pride in their craft.

The main reason to dig so deep is primarily the frost line, you want your foundation below that. Especially for something that big you want your foundation to be up the standard depth that is required in you area. There is no added bonus for digging deeper just to gain more foundation strength (unless you dig down to rock).

These men did a great job It's the best brick pizza oven video I have seen. Workmanship is outstanding.

Very impressive work! Those men took no short cuts in building that amazing oven

My Dad was a bricklayer but he has now retired. He trained in Germany so he was very skilled and I used to work with him when I was younger. He would piss me off because he would go that extra mile every time and I have to say, out of all the videos I have watched, these guys are true professionals.

Then on those home reno shows in 10 years they will be like, "uhhh that's so dated" bring the jack hammer and save the chimney will make a flower pot out of it.

Your joking right? That’s a shit load of weight, if it sinks just a little the whole job is useless, if anything it’s underdone , don’t use the blocks in the ground bulk fill with concrete and starter bars in every block.

I had the pleasure to work with mexican people when i lived in usa,definitely the best workers and the brick oven they just build is just on another level 👍👍👍

That's quite possibly the only brick oven in the world that can double as a bomb shelter. No corners cut in that construction, that's for sure!

They’ve created a concert slab that just butts against the existing brickwork in the external log store bit and it’s above the damp proof course. Also, that chimney appears to be simply leaning against the house and no brick ties that I could see?

This was a lot more than just a pizza oven but it was all top notch work and that pizza looks delicious. Nice design by the home owner and nice work by the gentlemen doing it.

Brick oven? That is blocks over blocks, cement over cement, rebar over rebar, bricks over bricks, more cement and stones over stones Fort Knox shelter! You could hide the US Treasure in there and will be safe even from a nuclear blast. :o))) However, very high craftsmanship went into it.

the real value is in the owner enjoying it...this is overkill for the size home if you consider how little of the construction costs are recovered at time of sale.
