I am a relatively new carver. I struggle with the facial features & dimensions. This is a very helpful tutorial on carving facial features. Thanks so much.
This was the most informative video I have seen thank you
This is the best instructional face carving video I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a ton of them. You can ACTUALLY see everything he’s doing. This should be a MUST SEE for all beginning wood carvers.

Most excellent lecture and demo…keep up the great work Vladimir!
I just want to say THANK YOU! Just found this channel, It`s truly a gamchanger! New to carving and just bought my first carving-tools.Been bushcrafting a bit, and made easy projects like making a mallet and a tiny spoon with only my Morakniv and my axe. Looking forward to following and try out your projects. Specially excited for the squirell one. You deserve a lot more followers. Cheers from Norway.
Another great lesson Vladimir your free pattern book is developing nicely ...Danial
Absolutely brilliant! I have been looking at some other face dimension drawings and trying to figure it out but this video explains it perfectly. Well done - a true expert and also expertly carved.
Brilliant tutorial on face carving. Your style of teaching is so clear to understand. Is there a link to the proportion chart. Please keep up the excellent work.
This was a great learning video. Thanks, I will definitely carve a couple of these guys.

The face you are carving, with the dark hair, reminds me of 'Frank Drebbin’ which is the character played by Leslie Nielsen, in Police Squad and subsequently, the Naked Gun movies.

12:51 I have one constructive criticism. You keep saying "the width of the face" or the "height of the face". Correct me if I'm wrong but its actually the width and height of the head, not the face, that matters. The head is measured at the widest point, up high and back on the skull far from the face itself. Its just a detail but I believe it makes a difference to a novice. Nice video and great work.
@HomeWoodSpirit
4 жыл бұрын
yes you are right. My bad. It is height of head. Thanks for mentioning it here for other people. :-)
Very well done. I like the way you show the anatomy of a head. Does it also apply to a female head?
