Honestly, I like all the songs on this album because they make me feel comfortable in various ways. when I heard this album I felt like Wonpil's childhood friend who was entertained by doing various things. especially in the song Stranded, in that song wonpil hears my story, validates it, then invites me to play (especially the part "..neolla neolla neolla"). this is also on Unpainted Canvas, wonpil validates feelings of disappointment and gives up but then gives optimism by encouraging to continue "drawing" "trying". maybe my opinions isn't purely musicality, but it's really hard to speak wonpil's work without looking at the lyrics. I really fell in love with this album after hearing every song by looking at the translated lyrics.

"Unpainted canvas" gives classic Day6 vibes so it was the most 'familiar' to listen to compared to other songs in album. "If you keep drawing You'll be able to draw If you draw without stopping You'll be drawn someday" the english translation was a bit vague. With prior context, I interpret it's really saying that 'if you keep persevering(drawing) without stopping, someday you'll be able to complete the canvas you always wished for (what type of life you are living).' The final masterpiece (I agree with you) being how you'll be remembered. I love how the lyrics of the song have a flow in which the first verse immediately contrasts the innocence of a child, picking up a brush and starting to paint the canvas they wish for which is tainted by the realities of the world (adulthood). 'Pilmography' will be an album that I'll cherish all the more as time goes by. *Also, the last lyrics of 'A Journey' is "I will go and return soon" which reflects his military enlistment as well! What i kinda get from the lyrics "- you'll be drawn someday" signifying how your image will appear on your own canvas like symbolizing you successfully created your own identity like u found who you truly are as a person n its painted clear... kinda like completing that identity searching journey u know what i mean idk if im making ny sense rn😂

It seems silly to be saying this after all of Day6's great albums, but I was surprised at just how good this album was. - It's so hard to pick but I think my favorite song is Last Goodbye. It just sounds so beautiful. - Henry being sad while Umu just vibing next to him made me laugh. Good editing. - For Unpainted Canvas, I really liked the point Umu made about the sound gradually filling out, like filling in a canvas. - Unpainted Canvas was written with Wonpil's old friends with whom he shared the love of music and are now musicians - so the lyrics are extra personal to him. I think the last line of the lyrics should be "(if you keep goingin) what you wish will be drawn". I also think there might be some word play with 그리다 (to draw) because an alternate meaning to the word is "to think back on/imagine something fondly". - The directly translated title to "A Journey" is "Wish me luck", and a bunch of people made fan edits using this song as backing track to athletes during the olympics, other celebrities, etc. -The last line of "A Journey" (and of the album) is Wonpil saying that he'll be on his way, and since his military service begins this month, there's a secondary meaning there.

“A journey” is definitely a fave from the album. It makes me so happy to listen to and bop along with.

"unpainted canvas" was one of my favourites right from the first listen because it just reminded me of a classic day6 arrangement. one of those disney channel movie soundtracks with a really satisfying melody and full-sounding instrumental. i LOVEEE the trope where songs start soft and then have a moment for the drums to kick in and everything just sounds so much warmer-kind of like the second verse in youngk's "come as you are". interestingly enough, my friend listened to the album sampler before i did and pointed it out as a song i might like and a song that reminded her of youngk... she's not even a myday and didn't know that youngk contributed to the lyrics. 😳 "voiceless" became my favourite when the live clip was released because wonpil's vocals (and ESPECIALLY in the last chorus) just sound so incredible on top of a live instrumental!! for me, it was much more powerful than watching the mv even though the mv had a visual story. anywayyy thank you again for this wonderful reaction video umu and henry! i always look forward to these and loved hearing your thoughts ♡

I immediately thought of IU's Lullaby too!! When that chorus first came I thought "wait... why is this so familiar" and then I realized that it remunded me of his cover of Lullaby :D

My bias is Young K but I think I kinda vibe more with Wonpil’s album. I’m a simp for Last Goodbye because I like to suffer lol. I had the same reaction when I heard the first ten seconds of A Journey. What a great song to end an album. Stranded is very catchy and I like singing along to it. Stranded and Only are two songs that can instantly put a smile on my face every time I listen to them. Unpainted Canvas lyrics are TT speaking TT to me. What a masterpiece 💯✨

All of the songs in the album gives me relief, but Unpainted Canvas really hits me in the feels. I think it has something to do with how classic Day6 sounding it is like everyone said in the comments.

Unpainted Canvas and Stranded are my personal favorite. I also feel like these 2 songs will also be great to be perform by DAY6. The vocal harmonies on Stranded when I first heard it gives off DAY6 vibes, especially that playful part "ijen dalla dalla dalla, nolla nolla nollawo". Also Unpainted Canvas band version sounds great too, I hope you have watched the live performance of Unpainted Canvas 'cause it sounds better when live, omg. Btw thank you umu, you're the only reactor I trust when it comes to DAY6. I feel really happy watching you guys, hope you could react again with Henry with the old DAY6 albums hehe, you guys always felt genuine.

I’m so glad you guys reacted to this whole album because it was (for me) the most anticipated album of 2022, and Wonpil absolutely delivered! This album just SCREAMS Wonpil, from the sad yet soothing songs to the upbeat and hopeful songs. I also love how, in pure Wonpil fashion, he ended the album with “A Journey”, a hopeful song about how he will go on an exciting journey and come back to MyDays a better person, so he wants us to wish him good luck. This album is 100% serotonin-inducing and I love it. Best kpop solo debut in a hot second

This song especially makes me like Wonpil is physically with me right here at the moment, accompany me as I go on with my journey. I’m actually at the very low point of my life and I feel so lonely but I’m thinking to myself he’s here, he’s staying, he’s with me. He has his own way in crafting this album that it makes not only very special but very very personal and intimate with the listener. At least that’s how I feel it. This is my most favourite album of all of Day6’s

Pilmography is the most feel good rollercoaster ride that I've ever experienced.

My favourites are Unpainted Canvas and A Journey. They just hit me with overwhelming emotions and when I first listen to A Journey, when the last part comes out, my first thought is "is he going somewhere? Is he going to enlist?" Because that usually said by people who's going to enlist so yeah, my heart is prepared since then and he announced days later. While Unpainted Canvas give a big reassuring vibe of "I will get better no matter how long it is", A Journey is just giving me those memories I have and will continue to have as a MYDAY and make me anticipated with the future. Also, there's an edit MV (I forgot if it's official or not) of A Journey x Korean Olympic Athletes and it's so good. The song also used as a theme in 2 Days 1 Night, Korean variety show during VIXX Ravi last episode.

My favorite and most listened to is “pieces” poor Wonpil throat made him play it like a million times 😌🥰

I loved Stranded, Voiceless, Sincerity, and the other songs highlight this king who made an album with so many genres. Shout out to Spring Will Come for those DELICIOUS LOW VOCALS !

I agree with henry! I can't choose which one i love the most because its a special album to me! Its a beautiful masterpiece ❤️, but if i have to, i put voiceless, sincerity, and stranded on my favorite songs😆

For me, Journey is definitely one that stands out, especially as the finishing song, because so far we had really been taken on a huge ride with different sounds and emotions and Journey give me this big feeling of joy and resolution in a sense. And also that bit that umu was so obsessed with, that was me too lmao. As for second and third I think I might go with Walk with me, and a tie between pieces and voiceless. Overall, such a solid album, and I feel the same way as Henry, it's just what I needed in the moment so it made me very happy. And thank you for you reaction! It's always a pleasure to geek out about day6 with you, it feels as if I was listening to music with my friends:)

I agree with you that this album has touched different parts of you in different ways. "A journey" would be my personal favorite since his album live sampler and my love for the song doubled when I read the lyrics; especially because it might be a farewell from him for his enlistment. The song itself is so Wonpil because it shows his sincerity through the lyrics and his positive outlook in life which can be reflected on how joyful the song was produced. It's like even though he will leave for a short while, we should not focus on the blank space and instead happily wait for the day that he will return. This album really touched my heart and soul. I am so blown and shattered that I'm willing to invest in a physical copy. P.S Wonpil will enlist in the Korean navy on March 28. I don't know if it's purely coincidental but the album concept (a writer and a mermaid) and him joining the navy is just so intertwined together. It makes the album more meaningful.

Imo, it's def no coincidence that Wonpil covered Lullaby by IU (amazingly well too) and then wrote a masterpiece like Last Goodbye...

It is hard to pick favorites in this album because every song feels like a new emotional trip every time I listen to them, but the one that really got me was A journey, namely because of the lyrics. I'm in a point in my life where I'm leaving a lot of things of my past behind and going into a new life of unknowns and the words he wrote were exactly the ones I needed to hear to reassure me from all the fears that have been eating at me these last few months, so much that this happy celebration song made me cry my eyes off on the first listen; indeed what a way to end the album. It also hit a bit hard on the last line where basically wonpil says his goodbyes before going to the army. A side note Umu, I just wanted to warn you that the english lyrics you use are not really accurate; I know it is hard to find lyrics for b-sides especially if the group/artist is not super famous, and these are better than nothing for non-korean speakers, but just to say you don't have to take the translation at face value, and it's normal if sometimes it's hard to grasp the whole meaning of the songs, they are just not well translated. Other side note, thank you so much for listening to whole day6 albums every time, it really feels like having MyDay friends over and fangirling over the albums. Also I don't understand how Henry is only a 'honorary' Myday, in my books he's already crossed over to our side haha

Unpainted Canvas really touched me. The song tells me "This time in life might not be what you expected it to be or looked forward to, as a kid. But as you keep living, there will be a point where you will achieve the happiness you have been looking for". Also since I'm going to graduate soon and join my first job (which I'm totally terrified about right now) I want to dedicate to all my batchmates who might or might not feel the same as me. But " Wishing you the Best of Luck Guys."

I was passively listening to A Journey, not really immersed and viewed it as something I wouldn't add to my playlist UNTILLLL the bridge popped up and I loved the first chord change so much that I went back to see how it led up to it, that I realized the melodies are so infectious and zingy that I started to love the rest too. I also really like Someday Spring Will Come. Reminds me of that bossa nova realm and a certain Radiohead song called Present Tense Edit nvm it doesn't sound like Present Tense Lol

My top 3 are Walk with me, Pieces, Unpainted canvas. Walk with me just felt extra warm cause it’s like ending the day where Wonpil would drop by Bubble (or voice vlive nowdays, he’s obsessed smh) talking to MyDays, and wishing the long goodnight wishes. His love towards MyDays are just extraordinary sometimes felt like i dont deserved it. But latest that hit me while reading the lyrics is A Journey. I. Cried.
