Cory’s actually really a bass player in Guitar player’s clothing. Sonny is a legend and Joe is on his way there, but some of the best bass riffs on Corey’s recordings were actually played by Cory.

It's not just the skates, but he has knee pads on. His legs are not in their normal position and he's likely hitting the sides of the drums with the pads. Didn't phase him, though.

I feel like this straddles some kind of grey area between worst idea ever and best idea ever. Other thoughts: wong in space. A Koz nod over the Grand Canyon. Wong in a barn. Nothing like a barn jam amirite I likes the song selection on this set. And the execution, of course, was pretty dope. Thanks for the show

I want an "On the One" episode for this entire project. I bet there are soooo many stories to tell!

Those are some CRAZY solo keyboard sounds! 😳 I am in love with the joy Cory and friends always seem to bring. It's that very joy that keeps me (and so many others) climbing the lifelong mountain that is "musicianship."

This performance of Smokeshow is the most insane thing I've seen musically in a long time. I knew I loved all these new Vulf tracks but this was on another level.

why isn't more music produced like this? instant classic for me

The parks and rec guys just chilling is hilarious. As is the crew in ref stripes.

I think I am at least as psyched about the prospect of an athletic performance as I am about the music. EDIT: Not in the least bit have I been disappointed at any point.

@@ae3898 it’s not a particular part of the solo. In the ‘on the one’ video where Cory Wong talks about smokeshow, he said he was inspired by kid charlemagne to do a guitar solo that fades out at the end.

Petar drumming in skates is the most impressive feat for me. Flawless execution. Cory's Ice Capades. Incredible.

I did NOT think Petar would actually be playing with the skates on!

I was already impressed by Eddie making unblinking eye contact, skating toward the camera while soloing. And then I was so entranced by Cory's solo in Smokeshow that it took me a minute before I realized he was playing that solo *while skating backwards*

This whole production is incredible on a number of levels - creative, manageable with the band with Covid, funny as hell and absolutely top-notch talent within each artist’s versatility. Cory is curating the next level of culture within his entire brand, one of which I’m excited to live through and watch the growth happen in live time. KEEP GOING!

Cory subverting every expectation as usual. True creativity in a time where rock/funk music is running out of scenarios. Keep being inspiring sir, you're doing great.

That version of Smokeshow with Kevin Gastonguay at the end on keys... What a vibe.

Absolutely Amazing. The mix is so incredible for a hockey rink. During the last song, Negah dropped the tambourine to the table and you could still hear the clank. I have seen Cory many times and to see them on skates ? What a F-ing treat !!!

The fact that the trumpet soloist has to lean on the other guy to turn on his pedal due to wearing ice skates is so badass.

Cory managed to say something really new with guitar. The most truly and fully modern guitar player out there.

As a Minnesota born hockey player & musician this is BY FAR the coolest video I have every seen hands down
