I, saw this game a few days before 1st Kickstarter. Thought it was a scam. Went on to KZread and saw more information on this and backed it and backed it again on the 2nd Kickstarter. I was never a tcg player, but watching the gameplay, printing out the free decks and playing it for the first time with some fumbles, made me want to support this game.

Such a great video, and I 1000% agree on the collectability concerns, you collect the cards for the art, not the mechanics. (Also my perspective, not official info as far as I know.)

@@geekworthy7938 yes, I think in other games mechanics is what becomes collectible, but I think (imo) with no reprints in this game it wouldn’t be realistic to say that a certain ability will never be seen again (but with a slight twist, under a different name). That’s the only way to ensure that first edition cards aren’t insanely expensive.

I am a backer of this game. It's unfortunate they had to relaunch because i went from backer 119 to 400 something. But its all good. I think the AI art is beautiful and I want to learn the game. Looks different than other TCGs

I know they talk about getting a low backer number a lot, but I don’t really think it matters with the second time through. I’m glad you’re giving the game a chance! It’s a lot of fun!

This game is by far a risk that looks promising, but they mixed really hard their marketing objectives. Until I heard Tinsman design overview of no reprints and how it works in the game it spoke to the players and not to the business model which was more focused on creating a perspective that this game is different and you should buy it and not into how after we players choose to be evangelists of this game can find a community growing later on and not see a game “fizzle out”. Still they need to show more gameplay content with other creators, just reading the comments of the Game demo in the official YT WoF channel people want to see more, saying to them print the play decks, go into discord is creating more friction for people just looking at games in KZread. Let’s be real KS works with FoMo so not showing more about the game is just not the best launching strategy. I really hope they do well since I like the DBS but everything is just on paper now.

Yes I think you’re right. I understand taking steps to increase the chance of the game’s collectability, but the focus needs to be on game play, game play, game play. Then mention the collectability in the background. I don’t think they anticipated the backlash that would come from the collectability focus.

Great video no doubt about it. I appreciate your insight and thoughtfulness. I agree this game is a risk. BUT! We must have the courage to bet on other's ideas, take the calculated risk, and act. Everyday living requires courage if life is to be effective and bring happiness. As for me, this game brings me happiness.

@@geekworthy7938 I like how the realms incrementally open up over the course of the game from 1 at the beginning to all 7 at the end. I also love that you can play through a tense, thematic game in 30 minutes or less. We can get through 2-3 games in the same time as 1 game of MTG.

It's not really the AI artwork, just a little, they are not the first. No reprints, may certainly be an issue. Management having issues, is definitely an issue. Biggest issue, as Richard Garfield put it, a game should be "a game first, and if you treat it as a collectible first, then you are not doing your game players any favors." Luckily, they have done extremely well! They should be quite happy with what they have accomplished!
