WONDERS OF FRANCE | The most fascinating places in France
Get to know the most fascinating places in France.
Since its inception, France has been the scene of a rich tapestry of historical events. In ancient times, the region, known as Gaul, was inhabited by Celtic tribes until it was conquered by the Roman Empire.
The Middle Ages saw the rise and consolidation of the Kingdom of France. During this period, France faced Viking invasions and experienced significant events such as the Crusades and the Hundred Years' War against England.
The 18th century brought the French Revolution, an uprising against the monarchy that resulted in the execution of King Louis XVI and established the First French Republic.
The 20th century witnessed two World Wars, in which France played a crucial role. The devastation of World War II, in particular, left France occupied by Germany until its liberation in 1944.

well said erine! Most shows just gloss over things, catering to the new, shortened attention spans, of today's viewers. I really appreciate the time and effort spent to give a more comprehensive view of places that I may never get to see in real life.
This is very beautiful places

Take care, Marrisa, I pray you get well soon. I know what's it's like to have a really bad throat. Drink plenty and rest up.
His accent and articulation, voice, pauses on sentences, before continuing to the main point is perfect for me. I can understand it even in the slowest volume, not to disturb the upper deck occupant of the bed. Netflix movies dubbed in English are horrible for me. I'd rather read the subtitles. I understand only if I put it in high volume.
I used to train foreigners in working factory. Imagine how many tines i had to switch to Nepalese Englush, Bangaladeshi English, Malaysian English... We are adaptable! That's what we are!
God night from PAPUA NEW GUINEA.
Jeeezzz those sharks look beat up 😮 by the way, Mont St. Michel is built on rock foundations
wow, had no idea that italian wolves existed

Like all the shows here, this is a great one, but because it's used so often you'd think the word "cirque" would be translated propery from the original French script as almost anything but "circus". That is one of it's translations, but not the correct one. If this is a computer narration, it's SO lazy for the film's maker not to have checked it. It's pronounced correctly in the French place names. An English speaker would say it as "seerk". I'm not an expert in geology or linguistics, but in my experience, in English that kind of land form is commonly called a bowl. There's probably a better word, but most definitely, to translate the word for those land forms, big and small, to the English word circus is wrong. And because he uses it so many times it's jarring. I know they can't look up every word, but for this word they should have. Even the word "circle" which might be the most direct translation would have been better. The name of the wonderul, modern, Canadian circus act called Cirque De Soliel is translated into English as Circus Of The Sun.

Historical building..but when WW1/WW2 all this building look like never collapse by bomb 💣. Very nice.
Thank you for taking the trouble to try to pronounce the French names correctly. It's not perfect but congratulations for the effort! It is not easy.
@WhereisBrad we dip our keropok lekor with sweet chilli sauce specially made for keropok lekor.. the taste will be much better... Do come to the east coast (Kemaman, Terengganu or Kuantan, Pahang) to taste the original keropok lekor .
You pronounced every French city correctly except Paris.

Incredible how such an interesting and enjoyable documentary was RUINED by your erroneous description of Mont Blanc's summit as French. The summit is Italo-French, as established by a treaty signed by Italians and French a century and a half ago. It is internationally recognized as Italo-French, not just French. The French are the only ones claiming full ownership, which speaks volumes about whose mentality is greedy and bothersome. Italians are tired and will probably not surrender to the French's grandeur attitude and their willingness to forget or pretend to forget/lose their copies of agreements they themselves have signed in the past. Spreading the propaganda of one country while ignoring international treaties is wrong. Correct this inaccuracy, please.

I cannot speak to the veracity or otherwise of the statement in the documentary, your comment, nor the reply that says the top is in France; however, your pompous, I known better better than thou, superior attitude, is very French!….oh and lol….by the way.

@@Catherine-ew1ww it just the truth and it is used to consider the top of the muntain! If you have difficulties with geography is simple to consult a map ( not IGN 3630 OT for example… because is a French map). My comment have nothing to do with any superiority! I wonder if your observation is just frenchbashing? 😘Anyway, many people consider the highest european summit is Elbrouz in Caucasius Sorry if the informations hurts you once more…from Corsica 😮💨
