No dear, you have to buy chalk powder because wall putty is like cement powder, so it can not keep it for a long time, it will dry in two hours.

First add white colour while making the clay because chalk powder is off-white in colour. Yes , it's good for miniature craft .

Thank you Mam for a very informative video. What would you suggest we use if we don't find chalk powder/ wall putty/ marble dust powder as these are hard to find in US? There are many types of ready mix clay available but I donno what would be suitable for Lippan art. I could find baby powder and plaster of paris. Can they be used? I hope you answer mam coz I am not finding any help regarding this and I am very keen to do this art work.

Yes , you can, ceramic powder,any wood glue and little vinegar, mix them and prepare a smooth dough , that's it . But prepare in a small amounts and check the results first .

Ok, what was the result , using ceramic powder? This is ok .chalk powder will be a good option. If you are new to this art please prepare the clay in a small amount and wait for two, three days , if everything is good and perfect then go for it . Is it ok?
