Im pretty sure that clump of what you called baby worms are pot worms. Baby red wigglers have reddish tent to them plus a faint yellowish tail. Lots of people mistake pot worms for babies. They are part of the decomposition process. Great video and beautiful setup.

They could be. We have been over feeding for 1 month straight but I don’t know for sure. There is a ridiculous amount of worm caccons in the bin so I hope 🤞 it’s baby red wigglers but all I said was they were baby’s worms.🪱 😎🤣

I'm loving your videos!! They are also making me seasick lol I wonder if it would be possible to set up a tripod to have static camera shots? Just a thought, not trying to criticise! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge, I feel really inspired to try and start my own wormery.

Yes, you're the second person to say we need to be more steady with the camera. I agree. We are still new at the KZread thing, so we are going to try to get better as we go. The videos should be getting better every time we post, and you're welcome for the worm wisdom, and I hope you do start your own wormery because there's nothing else out there that you can spend a small amount of money on and get the incredible benefits of the magical worms because you get the castings for the garden, and I do believe they're the best thing for plants is to have worm castings, and at the same time, you're saving food scraps from the landfill. have you tried palm tree compost as bedding? Cos it's more local with some shredding leaves. If you live in Cali or AZ they have a lot of palm trees and if you hook up with an arbist you can get that drop off for free. Most folks NEVER spray palm trees with anything. you turn that into compost and it's almost like coconut compost and mix that with fall leaves shreded. Works really well as a bedding. You can grow in it as well for wheat grass pads.

We are 300 miles from the closest beach 🏝️.

They look really healthy and a lot of breeding going on. Be aware once your box gets too overpopulated the worms will stop reproducing but apart from that your doing a great job. 👍🏻🪱

A mix of grains milled down to a fine powder.

glue on the cardboard as well as moister.

Thanks for the video 👍 I don’t use peat moss but the way I do it with coco core is put dry coco core in a bucket totally fill with water , let sit for a hour or so, then put plywood over the top and turn bucket up side down. Let drain over night. The moisture in the coco core is just right at least for me . Putting a few thin pieces of wood under the bucket will help it drain. How long for wheatgrass to be ready for the worm bin? 😎

My worm bins are what's called a batch method and that's where you just take out all the material from the bin and harvest it from there whereas the CFT you're supposed to just come underneath and rake through but I tried the CFT on some of our first worm bins we did and it was a catastrophe kind of just tore up my trash cans that I did it with and then you know now they just have cardboard over the pipes and we just do the batch method even though they are CFTs because your worm castings are always too wet to get through the holes or it's too dry and the whole thing comes out but thank you for watching and thanks for the feedback.

On the initial setup of our bins, we used a 60% peat to 40% shredded cardboard, but I don't think cardboard is something you should use for your worms, because most people put the castings in the garden, and cardboard is actually pretty nasty the way they manufacture it, so we'll be moving to something else in the future.
