About Wonder Woman 1984:
Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big screen adventure finds her facing two all-new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah.
With director Patty Jenkins back at the helm and Gal Gadot returning in the title role, “Wonder Woman 1984” is Warner Bros. Pictures’ follow up to the DC Super Hero’s first outing, 2017’s record-breaking “Wonder Woman,” which took in $822 million at the worldwide box office. The film also stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as The Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord, Robin Wright as Antiope, and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta.
Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Gal Gadot and Stephen Jones are producing the film. Rebecca Steel Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Marianne Jenkins, Geoff Johns, Walter Hamada, Chantal Nong Vo and Wesley Coller are the executive producers.
Patty Jenkins directed from a screenplay she wrote with Geoff Johns & David Callaham, story by Jenkins & Johns, based on characters from DC. Joining the director behind the scenes are several members of her “Wonder Woman” team, including director of photography Matthew Jensen, Oscar-nominated production designer Aline Bonetto (“Amélie”), and Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming (“Topsy-Turvy”). Oscar-nominated editor Richard Pearson (“United 93”) is cutting the film. The music is by Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer (“Dunkirk,” “The Lion King”).
Warner Bros. Pictures Presents an Atlas Entertainment/Stone Quarry Production, a Patty Jenkins Film, “Wonder Woman 1984.” Set to release in theaters on December 25, 2020 in 2D and 3D in select theaters and IMAX, it will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film will also premiere on HBO Max in the U.S. on December 25, 2020.
This film is rated PG-13 for sequences of action and violence.

You're absolutely right. In the comics Diana used her lasso to transform into WW. And when Lynda created the spin transformation, DC comics incorporated it. Wished the first movie used the lasso for her WW transformation into the WW outfit and in '84 used the spin😎.

Patty is exploring her emotional and human side with Diana discovering more and more. In the first movie Patty represented love, in the second it was about truth. She already said that the third one will be about honor. In the other hand, Zack is showing a veteran warrior. It’s called evolution. A hero isn’t born a warrior, it’s formed.

I read several of the comments before I wrote this one, and I totally agree with everyone who commented on the fact that this should have been included in the movie!!! Also, Patty Jenkins should have had Gal do the famous WW spin; like having Diana at that mall shopping, she goes off in secret does the spin like Lynda Carter did in the old series. And after she checks herself to make sure her transformation is complete, swings into action as Wonder Woman. The movie should have incorporated a ton of 80's music, should have had Steve and Diana dance together to a romantic and/or up beat song. Side comment: I recommend everyone who hasn't seen American Horror Story's 1984 tv season to watch it. They totally captured the time era of the 80's with the music and vibe!!! Also, going back to the first film, I wished either Diana's mother (like in the old tv series) or Steve Trevor made a reference to her being (a) Wonder Woman. In the tv series Diana's mother told her "Go in peace my daughter. And remember that in a world of ordinary mortals, you are a Wonder Woman!" Or Steve, before he got on that plane he died in, could have said: "I can save today, but you can save the world", (and added this part in) "because you're (a) Wonder Woman!" Finally, Gal has captured Wonder Woman by combining Lynda Carter's beauty and spirit as WW and Lucy Lawless' fearlessness and skill as Xena: Warrior Princess, with a touch of Cathy Lee Crosby's style in the'74 tv movie WW in the way she dresses in the colors of red, white and blue when she's not in her WW outfit. I hope everyone finds the wonder within themselves to do amazing things in their own lives and in the lives of others who may need your help. And no matter how bad it may seem in this world, " Believe in love!" 😇

I agree 100% about the spin. One of the absolute worst parts of the movie was when she was in the car, as Diana, in the desert with Steve, and they pan to Steve then pan back to Diana and suddenly shes Wonder Woman. How did she go from Diana to WW in the blink of an eye?

Loved watching this extra on the blu ray! Felt so vintage and I’m happy they did an homage to the Lynda Carter tv series with Gal Gadot doing the spinning move I’m totally getting some Charlie’s angels vibes from the 1970s

I think the movie took a lot of inspiration of the TV series; the show's second season was set in the 70s, while the first season was set in WWII, so the movie was set in the 80s just like the first movie was set in WWI. That's why it also added some elements from the show, like The Invisible Jet, and the main villain being redeemable.
