Can't imagine how she could be any farther from the rest of the celebrity culture. Maybe the kindest heart in the history of entertainment.

During quarantine 2020 I was feeling sad today, feeling alone. Played this and was floored by the love in this video. What kindness. Natalie you are an amazing example of being human. God sent you. Thank you

It's amazing to me that when somebody does something kind and wonderful in the world that there are those who just can't appreciate it, but actually take the time and put effort into trying to tear down the good. If you can't see the beauty in this performance and let it stand on it's own, I truly feel sorry you. For those of you who can, I embrace you and wish you continued joy.

Often I wonder what I’m actually doing and why-then I see these videos and it all comes flooding back to me in tears. It’s a great gift/perspective-the lives we have the privilege to touch each day. Thanks Natalie Merchant for your gifts and reminding all who worked with individuals with disabilities of the gift they give us when we take time to be present in the moment while working alongside them. All 3 videos you did at Perkins School for the Blind are incredible-true treasures. THANK YOU!!!

Ms. Merchant, When again? Wonders never cease, no matter where you are or your place in your personal life put your breath on one of those young persons cheek again and lift them as you did in that time and place, on that day and in that place this song and your visit brought vision and clarity to all. Reach out and enlighten this group again, if you can still sing this song put all the hindrances or time allocation aside because that song, you, and your touch on those will come back to you a hundred fold. Make the call. PW

Yes from one perspective it is a truly noble cause, but from another you have singled them out for this disablity. Not in this case, but some artists do these shows to make them feel better about themselves, and in the eyes of the public too.
