Women's Teachings and Ribbon Skirt Teaching

On this first day of #ReconciliationMonth, we are starting our weekly Indigenous teachings in July with the Women's Teaching and Ribbon Skirt Teaching. You will notice that many of our posts this month will feature the ribbon skirt, so these teachings are starting off #ReconciliationMonth in a good way. Miigwetch to knowledge keepers Carolyn and Jolene!
Because we are closed on Canada Day, this teaching is pre-recorded, but going forward, they will be broadcast on Facebook Live every Wednesday at 2pm.
Follow #ReconciliationMonth for more teachings, conversations, and highlights of Indigenous innovators!

Chi-Miigwech! These were wonderful teachings! I came for the skirt teaching and got the women's teaching, too, so I am happy. I am about to make, at age 66, my first ribbon skirt. But first, I wanted to know the significance of the skirts (the teaching) and what to consider in my design. Both of these teachings answered my questions.

Thank you for this teaching. Respectfully, could you re-shoot this important teaching with better audio quality? Perhaps APTN would offer support. Thank you!

Yeah, I had some trouble with the audio. Turning on captions helped a lot though. I hope the audio is better on future vids. Best
