Look at the divorce rates between lesbian and gay couples. Lesbian couples are more than twice as likely to divorce than gay couples. So you blame men for women leaving, but when there are no men in the marriage the divorce rates go up, not down. In every country where same-sex marriage is legal. Highest divorce rate: woman + woman Lowest divorce rate: man + man. Stop blaming men for women leaving relationships.

@@lizicadumitru9683 - perhaps they can. The problem is people can fake it for a while. Or you don't see how they operate when under pressure. Life before and after kids are born can be quite different. Regarding choosing the wrong person. Again, perhaps. I'm not against someone leaving if (and it's a big IF) an unbiased third party says they are not good together. But on the word of your girls wine circle or your guys beer drinking gang, nope. I'd say one thing that would help would be to reform no fault divorce. No one should ever be forced to remain in a marriage where they are miserable. So they are always free to leave. However, it doesn't mean they take the house, the kids, half the money, etc. Unless they can PROVE marital misconduct, or in your case, a professional stating both parties were putting in the effort, they are just too far apart to get along, the one who wants to break the vows packs a suitcase and goes. He or she gets a bill for any child support and a visitation schedule. Giving up on your marriage and spouse without putting in the work should make being the primary custodian of the children and keeping most marital assets a difficult road for the walk-away spouse. Always free to leave. However, not free to just take everything because you are unhappy. Gotta do the work. Otherwise, you have to prove adultery, abandonment or abuse to keep it while unilaterally ending the marriage.

I can almost agree. I say almost because I heard a powerful quote I’ll never forget which is “How can you expect to have a good woman if you aren’t willing to be a good man” Now I’m not saying that it’s always the man’s fault or that there’s no good men in the world but i know of many instances where the man isn’t providing, protecting, saving, etc. and the woman is left to deal with all of the crap in their lives. Many women don’t want to be in a relationship where they are the only ones putting any effort into it, and it’s easier for them to leave them and continue doing what they’re doing without worrying about pleasing anyone else. Now, I’m no feminist and I believe in traditional values when it comes to relationships, but both people need to be putting in equal effort in their relationship and unfortunately that’s not always the case whether it’s the man or the woman, it goes both ways 🤷🏼‍♀️

Nobody, ever, faults a woman for leaving when they're abused, truly neglected, just in a bad relationship. People blame women for leaving when things can be worked out, when they get a small sniff of a man they vainly consider 'better' when they have a good relationship and just get bored. Also be careful when judging bad relationships, yeah some men are just horrible people but contrary to what television and people's one sided recalls will have you believe. Women, who are in control of the dating market, pick the men they're with. When they pick bad men, while it doesn't excuse the men for being bad, they choose the bed they lay on more often than not. There's always signs if you didn't see them you jumped on too fast and that's on you as well.

Because the why is subjective and it can't be measured. Statistics based on actions and not sentiments point to a blunt and cold reality. Actions speak louder than words and it points to the problem at hand. Rising divorce rates and failing families is due to the changing reality of how women view marriage and maternity in America. Marriages were sacred at one point, safeguarded by family pressure, religion, institutions, and gender roles/expectations. In many countries, women are held accountable to their children and family. In America, women are selfish and don't prioritize their family over themselves (unless they come from multinational backgrounds). A society proliferating with woman with multiple children from multiple men or where women divorce men to financially ruin them is a broken society. The statistics back this claim.

We are not necessarily looking for a doormat, the word submissive really leaves a bad taste in the mouth for both genders. Agreeable makes much more sense and it really means the same thing. Look...it's because women get to a point where they are emotionally neglected and MOST men do not want to put in any work to meet her needs but still want his needs met. It's why on most marriage help videos you see a lot of very depressed women in the comments wishing their husbands would put in even a fraction of their time to learning what their wife's emotional needs are instead of expecting women to be like men. Life is too short to stay in a marriage where you feel unloved, undesired, invisible, and unimportant to your partner....especially when they won't even do the work that is required for a healthy marriage for BOTH partners. I don't even like divorce and don't believe it should be done without exhausting ALL options first...but even I can understand that women in older generations had to be silent about their husband's ignorance of their needs and HAD to stay in a marriage where she wasn't seen as the woman she is but as a glorified roommate. Nowadays women have a voice...and its speaking loudly that men are still very behind on understanding what their wife needs. It isnt money, it isnt height, it isnt material items....it's affection, vulnerability, and emotional intimacy. Without these things a wife doesn't feel emotionally safety which is extremely important in a healthy marriage.

@Hakar17 men are straightforward when they communicate...women are not. The way we communicate is very different and even the way we feel emotions is a good bit different from men. Of course women need to put In the same amount of effort to understand their husbands and meet their needs too. A marriage is a partnership...which requires both to learn how each other communicates and how each other feels most loved. My comment was specifically about how women feel emotionally neglected more often than not in a marriage...I could write an entire article if I had addressed both sides of it.

@@rayhan69420 but that’s the thing right? Women don’t actively pick abusers as partners unless they are mentally ill or have low self esteem. Abusers reveal their their character every time a major milestone is crossed or commitment is created such as engagement, marriage and bearing children. By this phase, it’s hard for emotionally and financially invested people (male or female) to leave because the cost is high and fall into the sunk cost fallacy. It’s not a matter of picking ‘nice’ guys because at the true core, it’s compatibility and shared values that matter, not about how “nice” a person is. This conversation sounds like women leave relationships just because. I left my first husband for a good reason. I had to. The things he was doing and saying to me made it impossible to stay. I know a few women who hanged on for years trying to work out problems that had no ending (men cheating constantly and verbally abusing them and their kids). From my experience some men are too cowardly to file for divorce and many of them don’t want to initiate the possibility of paying child support. I’ve known a few men who didn’t bother filing simply because they felt the child support obligation was too much. Just because the woman files most of the time doesn’t mean they’re the home wreckers. Many times it’s a choice they make because they are living in a nightmare that needs to end.

it's not just because though. women have incentive to leave and are paid to break the contract of marriage. the minute the marriage doesn't fit what they thought why not leave? and for men there's little advantage to getting married in the first place with the current social status quo.

it does mean they are the homewreckers though when you take a vow and don't uphold it. this is also where people should be thinking about whether they should marry in the first place. divorce should only be a legal option where one side isn't upholding. it shouldn't even be offered.

this is why men have such a problem with the lack of accountability women take. women do t see marriage as a lifelong commitment for better or worse. cowardly???? cowardly is leaving the marriage you've sworn your life and expecting that somehow the person who your breaking that vow to still has to uphold their end and pay for your things as well as your child's that you can't support while in your own care. at what point should a woman take responsibility for her own choices?

There's a huge deceiptful lie/question going around that makes people hurt other people. That lie/question is, "What do YOU want"? Not, "what do others want", not "what will others feel if you do what you want", etc..., but the only question asked is, "what do you want"? In other words, if you want to be in a better marriage, leave the one you're in. If you'll be happier without your spouse, get a support system and then leave. It doesn't matter who the spouse will be in 10, 20, 30 years. It doesn't matter what the spouse and/or kids want, what matters is what YOU want. It doesn't matter that perhaps there's a reason that God placed you exactly where you are for HIS purposes. All that matters is what YOU (your self-made god) wants. Ugh. I was told this recently and it sounded great upfront, but now it's just leaving a sour taste in my mouth. How could I up and leave the family with a young child? The lies also include, "is this the type of man you want your daughter to marry?" If not, then leave. Take her with you. You don't have to tell him where you're going. Play dirty. That's wrong on so many levels. Women, don't fall for the lies.

When the women has finally had enough and has emotionally already moved on from the relationship is when she hopefully leave, or worse starts seeing other guys. In either case, when she leaves it is total shock to the guy since for him he had no idea whereas the women tried and has already moved on.

Some attorney stats from certain firms have indicated "infidelity" is their top cause for divorce. Typically, it is the person who got cheated on who would initiate that break up because they are the victim & want justice. Also they are more likely to get something.
