Women & Gender in Sikhi: State of the Panth, Report 9

To read the full report: SikhRI.org/SOTP9
How did the Sikh Gurus address women’s issues? How did they frame or reframe gender? Regarding women’s and gender issues within the Panth today, why is there a disparity between principles and practice, and how do we close that gap?
Join us in conversation with Harinder Singh and Jasleen Kaur as we try to understand Women & Gender in Sikhi from a Gurmat (Guru’s Way) perspective, as inferred from Bani (wisdom), Tavarikh (history), and Rahit (lifestyle).

1:18:48 The speaker says that we are all caught all in binaries and that terms like "left" & "right" don't exist in Gurbani(which i agree with) but isn't this hypocritical when the very people on this panel openly identify as feminist? I remember I watched a video on this channel where yall basically say there is nothing wrong with being a feminist & Sikh. You should not use a survey to justify why its okay to be feminist and Sikh because that is an ad populum fallacy. If tomorrow majority of Sikhs think its okay to worship idols, that doesn't make it okay. If you are going to justify your position, do it with Gurbani. In my opinion a Sikh should not identify with any man-made ideologies like feminism, liberalism, conservatism. These were made up by humans and are therefore inherently flawed(for example some of the most important historical feminist figures were blatant racists and white supremacists). This is why I only identify myself as a Sikh, I don't put any other labels on my beliefs. Only the Gurus were perfect no one else.
