I’m a Black American, so I’ll share my thoughts. First, I was never really educated on Israel before, or the conflict with Palestine. But from what I’ve come to learn they have my support. What’s happening to them shouldn’t happen anywhere. I haven’t gone far into it, but I’ve learned there has historically been support from Black folks in my country. Because while our civil rights leaders of the past addressed issues we faced in the US, they were also recognizing the same problems on a global level. As far as Black folks supporting Israel, I see that mostly coming from religious conservatives (like evangelical Christians, that are mostly white). I have an aunt that’s into that, but that’s not the Christianity she grew up with. Other people have been told they’re antisemitic if they don’t support Israel, and that works on people that aren’t educated on the difference between Jews, Zionism/zionists, Israel’s formation, etc. Now this chick bringing BLM into it - one thing about racists is that we all live rent-free in their heads. So she must’ve been bored and desperate for attention the day she posted this on TikTok lol.
