Not that many. In fact there are more rapists and murderers who are male walking around us every single day than in prison. Still sad even if it was one man that was innocent, point is the number is not as high as people try to make it seem. Sad either way. Any false accusations should result in prison time.

So why should he sue the police ? The story states they investigated further and she finally confessed to filing a false report. I don’t think you understand how an arrest warrant is obtained in Pennsylvania. A judge issues the warrant after being presented probable cause. I’m guessing that there is more to this story than being released. I would agree with you if it comes out that the police fabricated evidence to obtain a warrant. The story doesn’t say anything about the police fabricating evidence.

But just like we shouldn't automatically assume someone charged with murder is guilty until proven innocent, we shouldn't just assume the man is guilty either. And it's a fact that many women, and some men say we should always just assume the woman is telling 100% truth, and couldn't possibly be mistaken about anything. And your argument about how often it happens is a Red herring. Our constitution says we are to assume they are innocent until *proven* guilty. That's supposed to take evidence, not just someone's word. And just so you know, the founding fathers were so worried about putting innocent people in jail, that they gave the accused more rights and protections than the accuser......

When someone is accused of a sex crime, especially if they're convicted, they spend decades (sometimes the rest of their life) in prison. And they have to register as a sex offender, when they get out. If the person is in fact guilty, it serves him right. Okay, what if someone knowingly lies and makes the whole thing up? And then points to a random stranger? If you convict without investigating and looking at the evidence, an innocent man is going to spend the rest of his life in prison for a crime that never happened. And he is going to have to register as a sex offender. And the crazy thing is that it's for a crime, that not only is he innocent of, but for a crime that never happened. I hate to sound harsh, but nonsense like this is offensive to me. Why should an innocent man spend several decades, if not a life sentence, so a dishonest woman can get away with lying? Why should an innocent man have to register as a sex offender, because someone else filed a false police report and got away with it? This woman who lied should be sentenced to 35 to life (no parole), and she should be forced to register as a sex offender. Her false police report almost permanently ruined an innocent man's life. This innocent person could have been killed by the other inmates, for something that he didn't do (that also didn't happen). I'm glad that it came to light that the woman lied. An innocent person is being acquitted, and the false accuser is going to hopefully face justice for her lies.

Or "I have nothing to hide." I have a friend who was walking home from work late at night. He decided to take a shortcut thru an alley, but then he saw a police action ahead, so he reversed direction, and went the other way. The police spotted him, followed him, stopped him, and placed him under arrest. A woman had been stabbed, and she told the cops my friend did it, even though he had no knowledge of the crime other than what the police told him. He spent a month in jail, lost his job, his apartment, his belongings, and then came his trial. His court-appointed attorney told him to plead guilty even though he was not. Why? Because if he pled guilty, they'd let him out, and put him into a half-way house for rehabilitation. If he pled not guilty, they would have kept him in jail a lot longer. He just wanted to get out of jail, so he pled guilty, and now his life is ruined. Why, or even if, the woman thought he was the culprit, we have no idea, but now he has a criminal record for a crime he didn't commit. A relative of mine lived with a gal. One night, believe it or not, she punched herself in the face leaving bruises, and she cut her face with razor blades. Then called the police, and told them he did it. I don't remember how he got out of that mess, but more recently I saw a video of a woman beating herself up in an elevator, then accusing a man of the beating. In the 10 Commandments it says, "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor."

Law enforcement’s goal is never to find the truth, it’s to find a conviction. Law enforcement will lie, cheat, steal and break the law themselves to convict someone. Do you know how to tell if a cop is lying? It’s really simple if you know what to look for. If a cop’s mouth is open, he/she IS lying. Never trust law enforcement even if you know you’ve done nothing wrong.
