Wolves attack Red Deer

Birds of prey circle above a huge herd of red deer. A black shadow in the
silent forest remains not unnoticed. Wolves ! Seemingly playful the black
shadows sneak through the foliage. Birds of prey like owls and eagles
sound the alarm. The herd of deer becomes restless. Strategically the
wolves take their places. Their choice is made. Nervously the deer
crowd together. The net closes when the wolves come down from the
forest one by one. At the time when the wolves start running, the herd
of hinds stampede in full panic, chased by the hungry pack of wolves.
The inevitable happens. Contented the wolves withdraw in their dens,
hidden between rocks in the dark forest.

I wanna make my apologize for my simple reaction :$. But some people think they know everything :P. Some of the wolves from the pack will stand out of the wind so the deer will run into a trap. But you were right about the stamina. But that's not the only thing they use. They also use teamwork and tactics ;).

i'm not sure if i can really truely explain it but.. hunt is when it's like a game... you chase your target and kill it as soon as you have a chance.. attacking doesn't always involve a death, it just involves a vicious round of biting, growling, and doing anything to try and kill your openent or getting them to submit or get rid of them. It's an agression thing, not a meal intended.

Oh my gosh! The wolves look JUST LIKE my wolves. I have a male and female from the same litter and they have exactly the same markings. They are my babies. I love the vocalizations they make to each other when they are sharing food. Then they eat their fill and take it back to the den. Or get meat drunk and lay around like fat pigs. LOL

@Atreas40000 It is likely that these wolves were videotaped in an enclosure. Before the Dutchers no one was ever able to get close enough for this kind of footage unless the wolves were in an enclosure. Nevertheless...they are beautiful creatures and should be admired for their hunting skills and adaptation.

@ Earthlinked Wolves are not stupid. They will hunt when the wind or weather are favourable They don't hunt with tailwind.

@Lalania111 first becuz when a wolf kiss a deer its only due to a large amount of wolves in the pack, u never see one alone hunting a deer. A size-able deer is one that could feed a numeral amount of wolves in one hunt. If a lone wolf was to hunt it would be smaller prey such as mice and hare. :) Hope I helped!

@Atreas40000 Probably because the black wolves (Canis lupus columbianus) live in America, and the deers (Cervus elaphus) in Europe.

@HollosiJ So what? The Canis lupus columbianus have evolved into telekinetic hunters and they are launching psychic hunting raids in europe? Or maybe that the video is fake? (which is basicaly my point)
