@@ScyllaAndCharybdis1 I still don't think they sound anything alike.... Like at all. Not even in the same ballpark. Overall sound or voice. People have been doing this shit for over a decade to Christian bands. Lessening and demeaning their accomplishments as second rate because they're Christian and allot of people are just plain antichristian bigots. Going all the way back to living sacrifice and zao blindside, even though Christian bands virtually made metal core what it is today. I know who thrice is though I didn't know the lead singers name. You may be able to make an argument about their cadence being similar but that's about it.

I don't think the original comment is demeaning at all; if you're getting paralleled to aspects of Thrice, who is a legendary CHRISTIAN band, (or Dustin is anyways) I'd see that as nothing but praise. People parallel things to other things that they're familiar with because that's what people do no matter how wrong or right they are. No one here is saying anything is second rate. Have a nice day.

The only time a "live" version is worth hearing is with a noticable crowd effect at a concert to get that "feel". Like sometimes stop singing and have the audience sing part of it loudly enough to record. Otherwise it is just worse than the studio version.
