The impact that Wolfenstein has had on the industry cannot be overstated. Though it originally started out as a top-down stealth franchise, once it was picked up by id Software thanks to a fortunate lapsing of trademarks, it went on to become, essentially, the father of the first person shooter genre- one of the most popular and enduring genres of this industry.
Like any other franchise though, Wolfenstein has seen its fair share of ups and downs. For many a year, it faded away into obscurity and irrelevance, with its name being remembered in the pages of history books, and nowhere else. In 2014, with the blessings of id Software, a Swedish studio named took on the daunting task of reinventing this great franchise, and doing so in a way that it wouldn't lose its identity, but also become relevant i the contemporary gaming scene once again.
Impossibly enough, they did it, and since that day, Wolfenstein has only gone from strength to strength. MachineGames, with support from Arkane Studios, are now gearing up for the release of their fourth (or their third, depending on how you look at The Old Blood) Wolfenstein game, and with days left until its launch, now feels like the right time to look back at the narrative that they've spun with all their efforts so far- because when MachineGames were handed the reins of the series, they made story and storytelling a primary focus, and managed to do a damn fine job of it.
So without further ado, let's go over everything you need to know about Wolfenstein's story before you play Youngblood.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein. I played that 3 times. I still have it on my computer.
Thanks for the recap! I played this game a few months before the New Colossus. If I had played it closer to when it was actually released I don't know how I would have handled the anticipation. LOL. So glad I didn't have to wait very long. Hopefully, this next installment will be as much fun and just as outrageous. 😀

Should have bought this way sooner. Just yesterday i bought new order and old blood for 12 bucks. It was on sale and man im loving it. My freind told me about it a while back but only till now i decided to get them. Im loving new order man. Anyone that doesnt have it should def get it.

This and your 2nd video about the wolfenstein timeline is really cool man ty. One thing I wish there was a video for though, was delving into the differences between the paranormal tech and stuff that the nazis originally perused, then comparing it to the secret jewish order tech they based their new science on. Like, what cultures and historical things were needed to help the nazis create all that paranormal stuff? How is it "Deaths Head" goes from being a paranormal guy to a tech based scientists using the new science? Why hasn't he combined his already confirmed paranormal knowledge with this new stuff? Or has he? Also.. that stuff clearly exists / existed. So why and how was it locked away before? I mean can new paranormal things be found to experiment with? I've already played the latest game, what a disappointment that was. The only thing I truly liked was the collectibles, found the dishonored talisman also.

You don't play Youngblood, Youngblood plays you with promises of "good gameplay" and "interesting lore and characters"

Whole series always felt like propaganda, it just becomes unclear for which group.
The New Order was really good... The others were kinda meh. Youngblood did not grab me at all.

The only thing you need to know before playing Youngblood is that it's a total cringefest of a dogshit game and you should not play it at all. I liked New order though.
