If you're very athletic, there's a chance you could outrun the chimp by grabbing sticks, stones, throwing it at the chimp and creating some distance. Chimps don't have a lot of stamina for running. You will never outrun a wolf. In a bare fisted fight, you're doomed either way.

@@johnnyvernersson2241 You are grossly underestimating how strong a Timber wolf is. A lot of people tend to think Huskies are comparable to wolves in size and strength. That's false. Wolves are much bigger and stronger than Huskies. Timber wolves are actually the largest and strongest canine on Earth. Not to mention as a canine their reaction and movement speed are much faster than a primate's. They'd bite down on the chimp's hand/arms before they can reach the wolf's body and tear the skin and muscle clean off.

You're right about the more flexible skin of a wolf compared to a chimp, but I think the chimp could beat the wolf by clawing out its eyes, ripping or biting its ears and genitals causing multiple nasty wounds that don't necessary kill the wolf but make it unable to continue fighting

@@Leon.2701 Pardon but a wolf is a moving target, watch one attack a moose... they dart in and bite the moose in the legs and head shake then release and step back. This is done in about a second and he`s clear of the moose to avoid a kick and moves to a different angle and repeats. This kind of attack not only is crippling it causes a tremendous loss of blood which weakens their toughest opponents. The chimp has to get past the teeth and reflects of a wolf to grab him and the wolf will not stick around for that to happen. I tried to stop 2 of my dogs at different times from growling at another dog by grabbing their mouths to hold them closed and they both grabbed my hand 3-4 times as a warning before I could react. One was a cocker spaniel that I held in my arms, and he got my hand 3 times and my ear once... just a warning to mind my business but that`s a cocker spaniel and not a train hunter as a wolf, a chimp`s reflexes aren`t all that fast either. In addition, these are usually smaller than human genitals. , It is worth mentioning that the wolf's bite is strong enough to break moose leg bones. The wolf has a lot of hair that covers it from bites, the teeth of the chimpanzee are not usually as sharp as the teeth of a 100% carnivore.

Chimps simply grab any piece of flesh within reach and then rip it off with super powered arm strength. Wolf is nowhere near as stong. Its bite is it's only weapon.

This video ignored the single biggest determinant. Wolves have loose skin while chimps have tight skin. If the chimp got 5 good bites and the wolf only got one good bite, the chimp would still be in worse shape. It is the reason leopards can be 1/3rd the size of a gorilla and still kill it. I am quite disappointed that this was overlooked here. Because it is easily the biggest thing.

No, it wasn't. It was dumb as hell.

Wolves are incredibly powerful, and highly accurate with their bites. The bites would come fast, quick, and devastate the chimp. Assuming the chimp can land bites, as its hands, wrists, and forearms will likely be slashed and deeply lacerated, it will be biting thick fur and loose skin. A bite to the face is only going to expose it's neck. 70/30 for the wolf

There is one place they both could meet, North Louisiana. Chimp Haven is the biggest chimpanzee 🐵 sanctuary in the United States, with over 200 chimpanzees. It's located in the north west corner of Louisiana. Also, Louisiana use to have the Red Wolf 🐺 as the dominant forest predator. The Red Wolf may be technically extinct 💀 in the area, but there has been sittings over the years, even recently.

Wolf wins no matter if the chimp can run away and hide. It has to come down sometime and the wolf has a better sense of both hearing and smell than the chimp and would know if an attack was coming from the trees. Chimps are strong and formidable but compared to a bison, moose or elk the wolf hunts on a regular basis it doesn't compare. The only animal a wolf backs down to is a Grizzly or Polar bear and they still fight even after a bear has stolen their kill.

I’ve had some big dogs and just trying to grab one when they’re ready isn’t easy. I know I’m not as fast as a chimp, but even my dogs aren’t as big as a wolf. I think I would give a slight advantage to the wolf

Wolves are huge but they only have a bite and stamina in their arsenal. The chimp may win because they have more useful combat strength, they’re strategically destructive, smarter than the wolf and can use tools plus the chimp can also bite and usually targets vital areas by ripping off the face, testicles and penis etc. The wolf’s advantage is its stamina and speed and it probably wouldn’t attack the chimp head on knowing it will take mutual damage, instead I think it tries to get behind the much slower turning chimp and nibbling at the chimp until it bleeds out Time for me to watch the video and see what you think

Exactly. I dont think people keep in mind wolves travel a lot in groups for their meals and throw bites at their prey. I dont see a wolf as an animal to fight busted limbs if not for a meal. It would escape. A chimp with those arms and that brain is a lot more threatening. Chimps fuck around heavy

The chimp wins primarily because of the strength of his grip. It will disable the wolf more times than a wolf would get a perfect bite. Once the wolf is compromised easy for the chimp to finish the wolf off.

As a human, you'll have a better chance at surviving an attack from a chimp than the wolf. The chimp will tear the flesh off your face and hands, but the wolf will turn you into a meal.

I think the wolf would destroy the chimp unless the fight was in the jungle, the wolf wins hands down in my opinion. And if I had to take my chances dealing with either animal, I'm not dealing with either animal, not without a fucking gun, that's being realistic.

I think this one comes down to environment every time. There really isn't a neutral ground for this fight. It's either open area or congested area.

you have to take accountable for the arms they can use those arms and if they get a wolf in a chokehold it's pretty much done and plus a swing from an ape's fist is enough to injure a wolf critically especially if aimed at the head, and if they swing their arms hard enough they can shatter a vertebra

A wolf's greatest weapon isn't it's bite, it's stamina. A wolf would just harass the chimp until it climbed a tree or collapsed from exhaustion - the same way wolves hunt brown bears.

Exactly! Any strong, fit man, can kill a wolf with his bare hands. I would ask the uploader a question: Which of these two would you rather be stuck in a cage with? I would prefer the wolf. At least then I would have a chance.

Even in the open, the chimp could just grab the wolf’s throat with both hands as it lunged in and crush his windpipe. The chimp would win in any situation.

A Gray wolf would never let chimp get close enough to grab it. Gray wolves hunt brown bears - like 1,000lb brown bears - by chasing them until they are exhausted - over DAYS.

chimps are known to able to straight up scalp an animal with ist bare hands, (huge strength with opposable thumbs..). it would get bitten up bad, but the chimp would rip off all that wolfs face and dislocate every leg. chimps can lift a full grown man with 1 arm...

Timber and gray is the same thing. All North American wolves except the Red Wolf , Artic wolf , & Mexican wolf are gray wolves. Every other species of wolf are sub species of the North American ones

I`ve seen a number of Discovery Channel documentaries on wolves over the years and it seems they all come up with a bite force of 750 lbs. From what I`ve heard most domestic dogs in the 75 lbs. class bite at around 500 lbs. + or - 50 lbs. Call this a base line for further research as newer info may be more accurate. IMO the claims of under 500 lbs. are as preposterous as are the claims greater than 1,000 lbs. I have never seen pressure pads being used for any bite force test on any animals outside of sharks and crocodilians. Peace and brother love to you and all.

Alot of people are underestimating what wolves are capable of doing, in some cases a wolf alone has taken down a 300 lbs caribou larger than himself without any help of pack now imagine what is capable of doing with a 150 lbs chimp

you are severely underestimating the power of the chimp. The wolf has one weapon, his bite. A chimp's bite is comparable but his arms, legs, and 4 "hands" are just as lethal.

@@srbradley1115 That‘s true and against a human without thick fur and much slower reflexes and lesser ferocity, this is the reason a chimp with it’s greater strength dominates an unarmed human. A large gray wolf is a completely different manner however. While a chimp‘s bite force is equal to a wolf‘s, the wolf‘s teeth and jaw are far better suited to rip apart flesh and break bones compared to the chimp. If the chimp manages to get the wolf into a chokehold it has indeed a chance of killing the wolf through many repeated bites and arm strikes. I don’t think however that it could hold the rampaging wolf long enough to land the final blow. It could very likely injure the wolf enough for it to decide that this prey is not worth it, unless it is an extremely hungry wolf. If the wolf however were to pounce on the chimp, it would likely go for the throat just like with a human. While the chimp would also be able to eventually throw the wolf off it, the chance that the wolf bites through it‘s soft throat is quite high, especially if the chimp is caught off guard. The chimp is better at fighting other chimps and other apes as well as mostly eating fruits, but wolves as predators are far more used to fighting different animals and killing them, including animals bigger and heavier than them who with a horn or hoof could easily disembowel or trample a single wolf to death.

imagine a chimp picking up a rock and using it as a weapon. If it can shatter bones with its grip, a stone or stick would increase its effectiveness.

To me, wolves will win. They are a true predator, whereas Chimps can hunt but they go for smaller monkeys or opposing Chimps that are alone. Yes, they can cause a Leopard to think twice about attacking a group of them, but Wolves hunt in packs. And in a group vs group fight, i believe the wolves will win. Best hope fo Chimps are eother they scare/punk the wolves or climb to the safety of the trees.

unarmed human has killed a solitary wolf in klondyke 1800s so chimp should also win against single wolf a pack on the other hand is a different story

If we were four feet tall with a chimps strength and bite force would a wolf stand a chance against us .

I believe the full grown male chimp would destroy a LONE wolf where ever they would meet. The wolf is a pack hunter which was mentioned early but what was not mentioned again in the fight stage. I don't think the chimp would try to out run the wolf in a open space it would understand that is not the move. Chimps are very aggressive while a LONE wolf would be cautions once it realizes what a mistake it has made and break off the fight if it could . The chimp would rip the wolfs limps right off and break its jaw apart. The chimp will go ape sh*t on the wolf LOL not at all like a tired out elk !!!!!!

If I recall they have said it was a defensive bite so that’s why they estimate 1,200 psi. I also recall of the bites recorded it was 600 psi

You know chimps use clubs and throw rocks? A pro baseball player hits a ball with 2000 lbs of force. For simplicity times that by 4. Also google says it only takes 520 lbs of force to crush a skull. I think im giving this to the chimp.

Assume we're taking an adult male chimpanzee and an adult male wolf, both at their prime. The chimpanzee assesses the situation and climbs a tree, not wanting to risk injury fighting another apex predator. The wolf goes off and looks for easier prey. The wolf cannot climb a tree and no chimpanzee has a fraction of the running stamina or speed of a wolf to chase it down. These are both very intelligent animals and take very calculated risks; neither has anything to gain from fighting the other. In a situation where they both had no option but to fight, they'd almost certainly both inflict fatal wounds on each other.
