    Quick note about the dogfighting: dogfighting is heavily looked down upon by most Persians, its always the worst of the worst or the people who are too poor to turn away who use these dogs for fighting. They're a rare breed but they're well-loved, and many of the guard/shepherd dogs I saw when I visited shared a lot of their features. These guys are also half-feral when guarding flocks, and are supremely tough! So much so that dogs like them are feared as much as they are revered, as they will maul or kill anyone who isn't their owner without hesitation. They're beasts!

    I despise organized dog fighting and the people who do it willingly. Territorial fighting is one thing... My 3 dogs are always having fights with the wild dog packs around my farm. It's as nature intended in my opinion and i'd rather they didn't but the wild dogs are vicious where i live so if they have to fight then so be it. Putting dogs in a ring to tear each other to pieces though... horrible.

  • @crod67435

    @crod67435

    @dodo19923 yes dog fighting is wrong but when lgd breeds are pitted against one another its to test there combat skills and for good reason. Would you want a lgd breed who has no combat experience going up against a wolf, jakyl, bear or striped hyena without confidence or combat experience? These dogs are pitted to teach them to fight and they need that cause most of the time dogs are on there own and have to be tough. For example just cause someone is fit and works out doesn't mean there tough but an mma fighter is in good conditioned shape but is tough due to training and combat experience. Yes it sucks when dogs are organized to fight but there is also the benefit that the dog is battle experienced and confident enough to confront a predator if needed

    Just to give some clear information on this, you have put 2 breads and gave them the same title, we have 1: the Sarabi bread 2: the Kurdish mustaff known as (Pajdar) these are very different breads but almost have the same characteristic The bread that is very rare is Kurdish Mustaff is almost the biger than Sarabi and is goes back in history we have the statues from them that goes back more than 2500 years ago what is being shown with these two breads is that they are Sarabi breads and not Pajdar but in your clips (2:04) that is Pajdar and you could see the difference between them they have a very different face. Pajdar is much more gentle with the owner and very even tempered but protective beyound believe and the thick skin on the neck prevents any injurty during the fight, it could be dog fight, wolf fight any fight realy. and just to complete this info the following are the Persian dog breads that are very unique 1- Sarabi 2- Kurdish mustaff (Pajdar) very rare very large 3- Soloki (is a persian hound) very beautiful dog 4-Sang e sar (another large dog almost as big as sarabi) 5-Ghadr joni (very similar to sarabi but a bit smaller and not even tempered as sarabi) 6-Ghafghazi (Huge dog about 65 to 75 cm and it could get to 140kg) I hope this helped and thank you for your kind attention

    I have a mixed breed Anatolian shepherd/Kangal who was a rescue from Turkey. Flock guardians are a really incredible group of working dogs. There's always lots of talk about how fierce etc they are, and although they do guard property and flocks like no one's business, but they are also generally very stable dogs, with even temperaments. They don't go out of their way looking for trouble and they try their absolute best to deter threats with barking first.

    wolves hunt in packs at night. When the wolves start to howl, the dogs will know what is coming and they will run away immediately. These dogs lack the courage to face wolves. That's why you can't see these dogs meeting wolves at night. show me an example if i'm wrong . 12 - 05 I want to see dogs fighting wolves during wolves hunting hours. These dogs average between 90 and 110 kg and can run very slowly. It is almost impossible for them to catch a wolf in their natural habitat. In many countries in the Middle East, they shoot the wolf and throw it injured in front of the dogs. Dogs of 90 kg have problems with their lungs and get tired quickly and give up. ( anatolian shepherd, malaklı, caucasian shepherd, alabai, sarabi, volkodav, ) none of these dogs can run 5km. If you see these dogs fighting a wolf, know that they shot the wolf and threw it in front of the dogs. the wolf walks 50 km a day in its natural environment it is hunted all its life red meat fed muscle mass it is impossible to catch a wolf let alone fight. this is why almost all of the dog wolf videos fighting wolves at night are kangal. A kangal working in the mountains walks 40-50 km a day. It is active at night by nature and likes to patrol its area, you can often see it encountering wolves. It is between 55 -75 kg on average, just like a wolf. back to our topic, every country loves its dog and every country likes to exaggerate its dog. The wolf population in the Americas is almost 10 times higher than the wolf population in Turkey. But you can't see dogs fighting wolves in America. Despite the fact that there is a very high population of wolves and dogs in Russia, Iran in Europe, dogs are not reflected in the cameras because they are afraid at night. If these dogs are wolf killers, why are they never seen on camera? sarabi vs wolf ? I have a video, I've saved it now, while the wolf attacks the cows in Iran, the dog is scared and runs away ( sarabi )

There is thousands of videos of wolves doing kangals tho init!!! I was told before that the malakli finishes the wolf off after the kangal traps it that why the malakli doesnt need to run fast!! Fact is the kangal is a lsgd that protects not hunts so why make out it it gets used to hunt and kill wolves?? Thanks for sharing about the Sarabi dog 🤗 They are very courageous and loyal dogs and one of the oldest dog breeds in the world. Dogs and Horses allways been looked upon in the Iranian culture and in some religious scripts counsidered them as two heavenly animals, closest friends to mankind and for dogs, if you harmed a dog you could not enter the heaven. Sarabi dogs and Alabi are two of the most common sheperd dogs in Iran. When i was a kid i was chased by 3 of these dogs and surprisingly they did follow me to the edge of the farm and stoped, when i looked back i sow 3 huge dogs with necks high up looking at me and not making any movement ,as if they knew they can only be defensive inside the farm area and not leave the farm despite there were no fence or wall between the farm and the open plains around it. Now remember they are sheperd dogs which means they are there to give chase to wolves and kill it after they entered the farm, i just find these dogs really deciplined and honorable in nature.

    The thing is most wolves avoid flocks and go for larger preys like dears, boars and Bisons. However a young inexperienced wolf might try its luck on a flock but are usually deterred by the presence of Sheepdogs. However if the wolf still attacks then it won't have a chance against a full pack of dogs.

    Thanks for introducing the persian dogs. Unfortunately these dogs are not under an organization in Iran to protect their blood lines and they are mixing a lot as you mentioned. Just may be I mistake bicuse of similarity,The black dog in your video looks a pure persian Ghahdarijani dog( سگ قهدریجانی) a county near Isfahsn not Sarabi, they are also perfect ship dogs and well known in persia.

    Yeah sounds about right. I had a lifestock guardian female and she was super cuddly and mild tempered, but she wouldn't let people pet her without the owners permission. A quick WOOWOOWOO would scare many unpermitted petters 😅 except children.. she was gentle with children.

    Love the videos as always Ane, but one thing about livestock guardians is they don’t really need to have a chore, I’ve had caucasians for years and I’ve always noticed how they seem to enjoy the smallest things. Mine always loved playing with our younger siblings, they couldn’t get enough of my younger sisters, they always played gentle and would roll themselves over to show they were friendly and playing gently. However, when my younger sister had a party once, a young boy accidentally pushed her over, this enraged our oldest male Caucasian who quickly charged over and barked at the child. From that moment on, we knew these dogs were smarter than we gave credit too, they knew very well the kid was no threat but needed to correct him. We assumed this was the same as a livestock guardian correcting a lambs behaviour.

    Beautiful dogs. We're blessed to own a Kangal. Aslan who at 27 months is 34" and 135lbs, watches over our acreage and all the critters. He interacts very well with most dogs, only having issues with those who show an aggressive posture towards him. Children are the biggest hit, and he thoroughly enjoys seeing people he knows. All that said, I have seen the Kangal in him, it's quite intimidating and I'm sure he has the power to kill a small animal in the blink of an eye (including dogs), his speed to pure guardian/attack is phenomenal. He thinks way ahead and frequently reads situations far quicker than I. Flock Guardian dogs are not very easy to manage, and many are nearly impossible to train. I discourage any who haven't had direct experience with Giant breeds, particularly of the Guardian variety. We have over 20 years of Irish Wolfhound experience and this Kangal is more challenging than raising Wolfhounds, relative intensity and very mischievous nature, but I wouldn't change him, and we're truly blessed to have him.
