Wolf Family Therapy Podcast: Session #6 Lucas Zelnick

Комедия

This week’s Wolf Family Therapy session is with the very astute and open Lucas Zelnick. Despite some microphone issues, we still managed to have a breakthrough regarding when rich people go broke, ridiculous college essays, and whether or not you should follow your passions in life at all. We go deep and discover a lot in this one. We do advise you to come back for another appointment next week though, just to be safe.

Tyler and Jamie are both comedians… who happen to be brothers. They had a weird childhood to say the least. Every week they book a therapy appointment with a funny client to find out what childhood experiences are universal, and which are unique as hell. Come be a fly on the wall for Wolf Family Therapy.

Thank you guys for creating THE most unrelatable podcast and being transparent about the topic. Bleeps definitely made it funnier 🙂!

I really loved watching this. At first, I just started thinking about my own privileges and being able to live at my parents' rent free and not having to take a horrible job to support them, daydreamed a bit about one day earning 80 million a year, then I thought that Lucas would be an interesting character to write and in the end I might have actually gotten a lesson on finding my passion or profession or whatever, especially since that corporate description sounded like hell. But yeah, I guess if nothing means anything and success isn't guaranteed anywhere, you can just do what you love and what you're good at or have potential to be good at. Thanks, guys! Edit: Also definitely privileged to be in a country where neither health care nor university education rely on money to that extent.

this podcast is better than Seth Meyers's podcast with his brother - I assume, I would never listen to such a thing, i only watch Amber and corrections.

Hello, I wanted to ask if y’all could help me with the opener for my essay because I don’t want to start it generically. My story for my essay is to write about the time in 5th grade where I wrote with red chalk on a blank brick wall at recess a long list of teachers I hated in that school. I wanted to speak about this event because my idea for my essay is to talk about my younger self’s impulsiveness behavior, and how being impulsive instilled an unconscious fear of stability in my life and a unconscious habit of being impatient in areas of my life ( with my family and even in social situations) and how in high school I overcame it and came to the realization of being satisfied with the now(the present) even if it’s not where I want to be. Also how I learned to appreciate patience I because it is a beautiful thing in life. So yeah, please help me if you can.

Since you asked, our advice would be to probably not write about this... colleges don't generally like if you write about hating school and teacher (even if it was in 5th grade). Instead you could use elements of this to focus on a passion of yours, overcoming a hardship, an experience that shows your attributes, or the things in life that bring you joy. But also a podcast might not be the best place to seek out help. A resource designated for this type of thing could be very useful like the College Essay Guy!
