“We don't try too hard to make the live sound exactly like the record. We do overdub and layer things to make the recording sound as good as it can. We're not purists in that sense...”

I appreciate Joff's creative intelligence, Ellie's sensitivity and courage, Theo's lightness and perspective, and Joel's power and passion. Each of them bring such wonderful talent and uncompromising authenticity. I look forward to their third, fourth, fifth records...

Anyone here knows about mbti personality? I think Joff it's INTJ, Ellie is INFP, Theo is ENFP and Joel it's INFJ. The features you said suits with that types for each one.

Yeah…a really good example of how talented and intelligent these mates are with their descriptive thoughts of production value and what it means to be comfortable with who they are and the music they want to make.

In interviews musicians should always appear to have only just woken up. They should rub their eyes and stumble a bit for their words. If discussing why live performances are more enjoyable to hear than recordings, they should use words like “ferociousness.” Whoever asked the questions for HiFi Scenen and then let them talk clearly knows his business. Good job.

Studio albums are done to please the record label, playin live is done to please the fans. A band should multi track record EVERY live performance and use them as the basis for their albums. As I have grown older I more appreciate the art of live performances as against stale boring studio albums, especially for Rock. Splitting the instruments on a stereo image is easy, lead vocals Bass and Kick down the middle, snare toms cymbals hihats etc slightly to the side and the guitars span out.
