Let's not forget here, the only reason they're freaking over this is they CAN'T get Depp back. Not after how they and Warner treated him during his divorce and revealed themselves to be disgusting hypocrites. I remember hearing about this "reboot" around the same time it was going on and now that he's been proven right due to all the receipts he kept and how he protected himself, Depp would be out of his mind to go back to these companies. They have no honor or loyalty toward their actors. I can imagine that both Disney and Warner Bros. are sweating now considering Al Pacino is backing Depp up and they're making a movie together.

I think Disney should quit worrying so much about DEI and focus more on quality storytelling. Most of the new stuff they’ve cranked out is trash, and it’s sad. I grew up watching Disney. It’s sad to see it morph into some political agenda-pushing toxic dump.

Since 2005 I’ve been doing Captain Jack Sparrow for Halloween, certain events and or local haunt ! This is one character that has been popular with everyone! But as we’ve seen in all of Disney’s movies none of that matters! It’s what they feel is important that matters to them!

Pirates 6 will flop and I think it'll be the final straw for a lot of people seeing Disney obliterate that franchise... I don't think it's going to go down well

Jonny is what 55 years old now, surely you need to say times up.... disney tried to bring back indiana jones look how that turned out.

This new pirates is a reboot with a race swap lead character, Depp is not involved.

If they're not using Johnny as Jack, make a whole new character or use one of the others to introduce the new protagonist. Stop recasting others in the role. Jack is iconic in the way Depp played him no actor will ever satisfy the majority, especially of a beloved character in a recast. Not just for Disney, but in Hollywood in general. I understand the likes of Bond cause it's just a trope now, and older reboots from the 80's cause actors have passed away or retired, but when they're still around and still visually haven't aged too much, it makes no sense in my mind to go "oh lets make a sequel #6 but use an actor/ess that is 20 years younger to tell the next story".

(SPOILER WARNING if you haven't seen the Marvels) Basically it's like this... I honestly loved the cast of the Marvels and thought they made a great team together, but the story and plot of the film could have been better. I wanted them to do well with that project, not because I cared about the DEI in it, but because I'm a total Marvel nerd and thought they could develop those characters' stories really well, especially from previously flopping with Captain Marvel. I mean,.... she's a whole army herself, but they couldn't even go into the OP aspects of the character, especially putting Captain Marvel toe to toe with someone at her power level. But, of course, Disney forgot they need good plots and themes behind their films. The only part I was interested in was the post-credit scene setting up the young Avengers
