Disturbed is a band. David Draiman is the frontman, with Dan Donegan on guitar (and keyboard), John Moyer on bass (and guitar), and Mike Wengren on drums. This song is a departure for them as they're a hard rock/metal band, best known for "Down with the Sickness." Their rendition of The Sound of Silence came out about 50 years after Simon and Garfunkel put it out in the 60s. Paul Simon wrote the lyrics.

Think on a larger scale - in the original release almost 60 years ago it was a warning and now in Disturbed powerful & angry version, it almost too late for the world.
