Up till this guy I had been beating the bosses no problem. This guy has so much reach and doesn’t let off if your close.

It's a testament to how difficult this boss is that this is the only Tyrannicon video I've ever seen that is completely and entirely unhelpful.

Couple really key things that helped me. First just try the boss a few times to learn his moves and get your timings down. Secondly when your ready to push it get your morale up to 25, and of course summon 2 friends. Third, use the the stone armor buff, and if you have it, the metal spell that reduces enemy damage. Combine this with the heal on damage spell from wood. Lastly, imbue your weapon with an element, I used lighting. You can basically face tank the boss combining all of that together l. I know it’s a lot, but it makes this fight so much easier.

It helped me and works completely u keep ur distance and only punish belly flop red charge and if he decides to do any other red attacks. It takes patience but 5 minutes > 2 hours of doing it cause ur trying to fight him up close

Team ninja is amazing at creating the most dynamic and in depth combat systems and yet at the same time design the absolute worst enemies to fight with it

3:17 There's a good tactic in case anyone noticed; that Wood spell he casts gives you lifesteal based on the damage you deal, so using it before landing a critical hit will give you maximum amount of health back. It's a great strategy to save on healing pots.

Indeed, and overall, whatever the build we use, before landing a critical hit, we can use any buff move for free as we get the balance of energy back at 0 after a crit.

This fight is so silly to me,either stay close and parry every single attack like the game wants you to,or run around in circles baiting one attack. in a game where everything is counter based,this dude attacks nonstop if up close to him with random movesets,which he has like 10 different sets of,and 1 hit fucks you up and lowers all your spirit. and when i do parry every attack in a row,the meter barely fills until i get a critical. so i have to parry for 5 minutes straight,and maybe get one hit off. so dumb. i beat it but it was not fun at all

Yup I agree, These guys do not know how to do bosses. Stupid spamming attacks, attacks that close you in, the camera is abysmal. 2 Fights with this s**t bag and he never once did a crit move. They really need to sort these things out. They just do not have the right idea. Lu Bu that's an incredible boss because it is a fight, not a spam fest of flaily stupid arms and gap closing and with staggered moves that catch you because the camera is garbage and the hitboxes are trash too. The only way to beat this boss easily, is to use the spell that builds up the beast quickly pop the dragon off twice and you should be ok.

@@delg551 Agreed. Team Ninja bosses are all the same. They move at lightning speed and just spam attacks with no coherence behind them. FromSoftware bosses although can be difficult are so well executed and logical that I have fun learning their patterns and finally beating them. TN bosses are a tedious chore!

After the initial red flash there is a more subtle flash on his horns that tells you exactly when to press deflect. Look out for it, and make sure you only press the button once.

Lower your armor to blue. Use a 110+% deflect weapon and you get lots of extra time

This boss constantly crawls after me and rarely will do the red move you can deflect? What am i doing wrong

Just got to this boss and it’s absolutely impossible. Game just had an update and I fear they’ve upped the difficulty. Not had much trouble with the other bosses up to now but this one hits you once and you’re dead. Can barely lay a finger on it.

Level your wood up and this boss isn't that hard tbh. Just beat it with 21 in earth and 9 in fire. Once you get the hang of its attacks you can parry pretty much everything. I looked this strat up and then said let's try one more time and killed him funnily enough. I just attacked like a mad man.

I had some trouble with this boss, but finally got it, some tips, I used lightning rush spell on it a lot, since it travels pretty far, it would actually stun the boss for me to get a red attack on it. Still gotta deflect is red attack but u can avoid it, if u got distance

And it’s incredibly annoying and has an almost unperceetable deflect window. Just beat this asshole right now max rank of 25 back down to 15 for like 3hrs with inconsistent deflects screwing me over.

this ones remind me of yatsu no kami , the tentacles , grab and sweep attack , the thrust one is also kinda similar just faster, and they both really tough ngl. Be calm and patient is a key.

Yup. I think it's probably a recycled model.

To cheese this boss, use the wood virtue skill lightning weapons and have Liu Bei in your party as he uses lightning skills. The boss is weak against lightning and it stunlocks him. Also don't forget about using dragon powder, it's a powerful regen heal.

Failed 1st try, used this method second try and beat him. Wood build is key, cast lighting weapon and the restore HP on damage and bring along the lighting npc guy. Cheers

some companions are annoying

To cheese this fight just kite around the arena and use rock slab, boss will continually drag itself into it and kill itself and when it does its big leap onto you use qilin the earth divine beast he will land on all the spikes basically insta killing him, you can do the fight in about a minute like this.

This is definitely the way to beat him, the problem is whether or not he actually does this critical attack. He almost always either crawls at me or jumps. Once I get him past half health he stops it entirely and instead does the grab attack one. So freaking inconsistent and wonky. I can’t believe this is by the people who made Nioh.

I was level 34, 30 points in wood. Liu Bei NPC (+ the default NPC who plays from the start of the level) Wood skill Cast absorb vitality at the start and lighting weapon (keep them active 100%) and go to work on him. I mainly hacked and slashed until stunned and then critical hit. Beat him second try. Weapon I used was white wooden cudgel +2 3 purple starts version. My armour was 200 defence for the whole set. Good luck

I know what to do. Don't stand to far from it. And not to close. It triggers the attacks you want. I still haven't got it ,but improving. Stupid beast....

When you miss a deflect, you're as good as dead. Often enough this happens within the first 5 seconds in this fight. There is no way I can pull this off 5+ times without a single miss. There's got to be a better strategy.

Weirdly this is the only boss I have beaten my first try and it was easy for me, idk why.

This is kind of working but he's not doing the unblockable at all. Just keeps crawling and dodging side to side, am i doing something wrong? First brick wall for me.

It's like I get past another boss and I hit another wall like this

i found it easy to kill him close up with dual swords on his face using light attacks and when he’s ready to attack doing the upwards slash skill to avoid his attacks after some slashes he falls down and the red flash appears to critical dmg him. once you got the timing right it was easy to kill him

The Guru will guide all in need of knowledge....and Throthgar will soothe your rage with laughter at his own anger

things that helped me kill this guy would be leveling up your armor, getting 12 wood so you can get enchant weapon with lightning, using a weapon with 125% deflect difficulty, get in close and just spam attacks only stopping to block his regular attacks or parry the unblockables. if you attack enough it should build up your stamina so you can just keep blocking his regular attacks. also summon liu bei

Every time I deflect it basically does nothing. I havent been able to get a big counter off since the meter doesn't fill up. Idk what to do.

I had the same problem with the boss before this one. If you don't want an overly long and tedious boss fight you have to grind qi and raise your spirit in this game(really annoying). I just started responding to online recruiting requests to help others beat bosses and my qi just skyrocketed. You get a bunch of rewards too.

@T- 800 I ended up getting passed this by doing damage little by little. I ended up beating Lu Bu and I'm grinding qi on a croc right now in the area right after Lu Bu.

Might add if you use the divine beast qi long you can lightning boost your weapon without having the wizardry spell

This is great. Except for whatever reason especially in the second half, he just walks at me endlessly, guaranteeing at least one hit with unlimited tentacle slams...

Use Jump as just running will get you caught.

Staying back makes it easy

you might be wondering why I am running around Naked. Nope that makes the most sense in any souls or souls like. Everything else is at least a little bananas

This boss I swear is cheating me. Literally every time I fight it it's health goes super low and then suddenly my dude can't parry anything at all , it acts like my B button doesn't work

Such odd fucking timing on its attacks man. I hate it but I love it at the same time because the developers know what they're doing; we just finished killing Zhang Jiao whose attacks had completely different timings that we had to memorize after dying like 30 times to him and now we have a boss with a completely new moveset and timing to learn

This little fucker was the bane of my existence. Seems each experience is different. When I finally beat him I pretty much relied on distance and deflecting. Used the attack divine beats you get before this boss. Used vitality spell and one that builds you're beast gauge and also a few rock spike spells.

This boss made me realize how garbage this game can be. Surely the team from TN that made Nioh 2 didn't make this game!

I hate games normalizing sprint being on L3. its so fkn trash. Nioh 1 and 2 did it right, with sprint being on A button (xbox controller), so pressing A dodge and holding A was run. Perfect.

Worst boss up to that point

Damn, this is the exact method I’ve been using and I still can’t do it. The deflect doesn’t work some of the time and he always catches me.

Im having the same problem. IT seems inconsistent. Im doing the same exact timing everytime and sometimes it parries and others it doesnt do anything. Sometimes it doesnt even register and I just stand there.

I think you'll find that those ones that you miss are because you have just finished blocking or deflecting one of his smaller hits and you aren't prepared and you character just gets caught standing. I could hit two or three really easy but the rest I was hitting the button and nothing was happening. I found that if I gave Aoye a lightning strike at every opportunity I was able to get all the deflections and beat him. I guess those strikes took away the quickness of his critical attacks and allowed me to get ready for them or made him catch me less often or a combination of everything..

@@MaverickneoGamer There’s no way you can outrun him the whole time. Hit the deflect or jump button when he catches up to avoid getting hit by his last few attacks and you will have time to run around behind him and/or fire a spell at him. You can see it in this video. I usually spam the deflect button when he gets close so I can get the hell out of there.

This boss would be easy if the stupid a** developers didn’t make the block and deflect the same button. Cant deflect half of his attacks without dodging into them.

I disagree with this 100%.. stay as close as possible and use the special attack that has you jumping in the air. Use the dragon beast and just go to town. That’s I beat him
