    You want rpm nylon upgrades for bashing. You want flexibility in your car. Metal always bends even the cnc machined stuff. Someone put 3s on that system and it took it and went 44 mph. Some crazy guy is doing 90 with that car. Breaks stuff constantly. Like i said most of the 10th scale traxxas handle 4s all day without things breaking unless you hit a brick wall at 50+mph. The drivetrain holds down the power beautifully. Ive had mine for 3 years and only broken a camber clock from hitting a dumpster at 50mph

    Try turning up the throttle trim all the way or until the car starts to move forward on its own. The throttle trim may have be set low by accident. Maybe you bumped it or someone at the factory did. That's the only option I can think of.

    Nice review, thanks! 👀👍🏻 Another thing I have noticed is the nylock wheel nuts are not what I would call really great quality so simply replacing them with better Nylok nuts will help to retain the wheels without having to use loctite. RD's Drone Reviews I had that exact problem with an FY03h and I noticed every time I put the wheel on it fell off faster. I had a long bolt that was the correct size so I screwed that nut onto it and there was almost no resistance. A good quality Nylock nut almost requires a wrench once the Nylon hits the bolt. Truth is I think some of the cheap ones are plastic rather than Nylon. Thanks again for the great videos. 👍🏻👍🏻

  • @RDsRCReviews

    No because it is the same motor we the 979B. They both use a brushed 550 motor with the same amount of turns. You would want to convert it to brushless for more speed but it is difficult to get it apart and get the pinion gear removed due to the super glue they used.

    Good review. But I wouldn't recommend charging lipo batteries on more than 1C. So for example a 1500mah lipo should be charged at max 1.5A. That is if you want your Lipo to last as long as possible and you want to reduce the risk of fire when charging. Lipo's are cool and very powerful but need some extra safety precautions in order to be safe.

  • @RDsRCReviews

    @RDsRCReviews

    4 жыл бұрын

    You can never be too safe which is why I have a bat-safe but I've never had an issue charging at 2c but I never exceed 2c. Some charge at 3c. 1c is awfully slow. Most people charge at 2c.

    @@RDsRCReviews I personally don't go over 1C but that is ofcourse a personal choice. The extra time gain is not worth the extra risk for me. Everybody I know also charges at 1C, but I guess 2C is not very extreme also. 3C might be more dangerous. Especially with older lipo batteries.

    Its nice for the price but womt take anything compared to a traxxas rustler or slash vxl . Good beginner car for my 6 year old. I seen someone jumping that 5 feet in the air and bent those shock towers to hell and broke off the wing. Its not for bashing but good for smooth pavement. Like you said its built from old 80s leftover parts. Im surprised its ball bearing but zinc is soft. Youre right keep it on 2s. I've seen people run 4s on this with hobbywing max 10. Im thinking about putting my velineon system I have laying around. Have to mount receiver in the wiring. You need wheel upgrades and all electronics with gyro or built in gyro like tqi system. Im having hard time deciding. If i didn't already have a tqi and velineon system laying around id just get a 180 dollar xl5 rustler and add my electronics but for extra 100 bucks mise well get vxl and have extra set of electronics for backup. I run max 8 system in my 2wd speed stampede that does 100

    It isn't meant to compete with traxxas but for a beginner at this price but you don't often get this quality at this price. Yes, metal can bend and is heavier than plastic but I prefer metal. Can always just bend it back rather than snapping and breaking like plastic.

    Awesome video I am definitely subscribing. This truggy by WL-Toys Looks like twice the price. I was gonna say $140-160 but 80 dollars ? That’s a Fucking steal. I would definitely upgrade to a brushless setup because to me The brushed motor setup is a deal breaker. Well I guess WLToys was going for a cheaper price point because a brushless setup was inconveniently too expensive. So to keep the price down they used this method which I think is good. I am thinking about buying this because I can alway go back later and upgrade myself. It’s just a nice sharp looking Truggy. All metal too including a Aluminum chassis I am blown away but that price.

    Hi, Does charging the batteries with the included charger break and damage the batteries or does it just charge slowly? If you say that it only charges slowly but there is no harm, it is fine for me. but if you say that the charger that comes out of the box will break the batteries, I can buy an extra device.

  • @RDsRCReviews

    @RDsRCReviews

    3 жыл бұрын

    It should charge ok just slower than a cheap hobby grade charger BUT the stock charger may not charge as accurately so you can expect shorter drive time and possibly a shorter battery life. The stock charger may not balance the cells as well so that will effect the run time. Also keep in mind that it is imperative to keep lipo batteries as storage voltage when not in use for more than a few days and the provided charger isn't capable of storage voltage charging. Long story short, you should without a doubt invest in a good charger. Most of the cheap IMAX B6 clones are really good.

    Exactly. Depends on how you operate the throttle. For example by continuously blipping the throttle (on/off) like shown in this video, you are wasting energy. When you blip it like that (not feather it to accelerate) you are pulling a large current from the battery. Accelerating more gradually and keeping more constant throttle will give you a longer run time. It is also more gentle on the drivetrain, tires and obviously . . .on the battery and ESC. Having said that, everyone will enjoy his particular driving style :-) Don't forget to put more grease in the diffs as they come with just a little bit inside from the factory. I will upgrade mine to brushless soon, mainly to be able to use my personal transmitter with it. Not going crazy high on the kv, just a 3300kv 3650 size motor and 2s Lipo. Maybe will try 3s too one day just for the buzz. But something like 70km/h max is plenty fast for me so 2s will do just fine. Brushless systems are more efficient, so the run time will be longer too. Cheers guys !
