Wizard Vintage Sewing Machine Repair Part 2
I found the problem with my vintage Wizard sewing machine and a temporary fix for it.
This is the Wizard model 190 Made in Japan. it is the same machine as the Brother Model 190. Parts are interchangeable. if you are looking for parts for your Wizard you will have better luck searching for Brother 190 parts. Or Brother ( insert your model number here) if yours is a slightly different machine.

Its great you have a sense of how things work, these machines are built and designed so they will last forever if people did those simple maintenance
Very impressive. I just bought a Wizard Citation Ten Light Weight and of course it didn’t have an owner’s manual for it. Thanks for the info!
I have a Wizard myself, a 3kc 8842 model. I know it's a long shot, but you wouldn't know what upper tension spring this uses? Or the thread check spring?---(I *think* I know what check spring it takes but I can't find anything on the tension spring that I'm sure on) I can't find a parts manual that's been helpful and stupid me disassembled my tension assembly and it's been unbalanced since. If you have any tips on reassembling the tension assembly, I'd be keen on receiving them --- or even watching, if you cared to make a vid of it? #kindadesperate #graspingatstraws
I have a Manuel if you would like a copt
