I think this video is about a girl being fascinated/enticed into a dark world of partying, the forbidden, etc.. and coming out of it traumatized/ruined.. the video touches on the fact that what traumatizes us is often what we remember most. what thrills us, is what terrifies us. It's the loss of control/familiarity.. these are the things that often mark our memory. Basically the singer/author of this song wants to "break" whomever enters his world... make it memorable for him (by letting him exploit her: you see a room of what appears to be prostitutes and a pimp, a girl bent over backwards and "broken," main girl being photographed as she is crying), the way he knows it will be memorable for her. The girl reflected from wiz's sunglasses, running away at the end of the video is probably a memory.. of some girl running for her life, out of terror. (you can read between the lines).

You're right. Wiz said in an interview about the song that he sang his own verse separately and then handed it over to weeknd to finish it off. He intentionally put the weeknd as the opener on the track and let him set the mood and video for the song making it his idea. :)

The Weeknd talks about a girl that he meet one night and questions if she's amazing enough to be remembered by him. Two different perspectives, same subject.

He is in the video. Its a metaphor. It's a pretty strong and clever one at that. He is the mysterious black haired woman in the red dress we follow through out the whole vid - Seducing, controlling, bending and breaking women at his will. The symbolism that presents itself is unreal.

Abel is also heard in the song first, which would be an even better reason to show yourself, yeah? But I don't think that's what The Weeknd is about. This song adds to the personality we all deem to create.
