This is false. I have done this several times. Each time they've stated they cannot prove my identity without the number on the account so therefore, they will not change it or allow you to change it without having access to that number. No they did not allow me to prove my identity in a different method.

honestly, it almost seems like they DO want us to delete our accounts, since they keep telling people the only way to change the phone number is to make a new account 😡

I did that but their answer is that they cannot just change the phone number, I may have to go to my provider and ask them how I can have my phone number back. What a waste.

Sadly as of recently this is impossible to do. Tiktok does not change anythign unless you still have that number. its stupid, i lost my account because of my new phone number and cannot verify my old F tiktok

@@snowywolfy1941 I actually am able to log in because I remember my password and I have access to the email, but I’m afraid the new owner of my old number might log in and delete the account. But I found a way to protect it! I activated the 2FA security method requiring every time I log in, an extra code from my email must be confirmed. So they wouldn’t be able to log in only by using the code they receive by text

I tried 2 times now and they said its a security risk that they cant help me .....😢

They also said I cannot use my new number I just got because it’s registered to someone else’s tik tok and therefor this number cannot be used. There literally are a thousand better ways than just keep making new accounts anytime you switch numbers. Ridiculous

If you are logged into your account what worked for me was first linking my email (since I made the account just using my phone number) and then just unlinking my old phone number and now I can log in using my email

That’s a lie , because I did that twice and they said call your phone company to get the text to change it

PSA to those who need a solution! If you give tiktok your email,(you should find that option in the settings in the same area you see your phone number) the key is to verify that email through tik tok sending a code, THEN the option to use your email to change the number linked to your account should appear in the settings when you attempt to change the number

You CANNOT CHANGE AN OLD NUMBER VIA SUPPORT. I had a large account and they wouldn’t even help me. They tell you to delete the account . They will not change the number for you.
