How ironic it is that this mirrors so perfectly my dilemma. Wrought in the pain and the blood of a so-called faith, fighting to catch the bearings in a world I no longer understand. There is a reason why humanity has sought for so long to comprehend the ether; without knowing there is something more, we are lost. Now, I do not know if I'm a believer or a deceiver, and its all piling up. Religion is not all it's cracked up to be, eh?

You have the freedom to believe whatever you want. Just don't take "happyness" as a measure of how good a religion is. It's about whatever is the truth, and if there is a god don't expect him to be good friends with you if you ignore him. So make sure you find out for yourself what the truth is. Question everything, wicca, christianity, even ask god himself. Don't believe the church, plenty of churches have so much religion yet hardly know anything about god himself. God is real, don't miss him.

I think this song is about a person (girl) that isn't going to be a pawn in a religous war anymore so she is now seeking the truth and asking for forgivness of her sins. :)

I think this song is about admitting her doubt, which I think is normal. Honestly as a Christian I do experience doubt that goes along these lyrics. When I hear this, it reminds me of why I didn't like Christianity. Although, I must argue that religion in this case is not the problem. People use religion to manipulate others. That doesn't mean the religion is bad. Just means people use religion to prey on innocent people. Religion is like a knife. You can use it to help or you can use it to harm.Maybe I'm wrong because my opinion is limited, but that's what I think.

It can be about pretty much any faith and someone who uses the wrong tools to justify it and demonstrate it. As for Christianity, St. Paul comes to mind. He persecuted the first christians with such fervor leading hundreds if not thousands to death penalty by the hands of both Jewish leaders and Roman autorities. Later he saw the light and got converted. He ended up being judged by the same cruel laws he previously defended as righteous and was executed by fire in the Coliseum of Rome.

Hmmm... I think this song is about how in most religions you're expected to believe everything they say and not question it. Like my Mom always acts as if believing in god and his 'goodness' will bring you forever happiness. If that's true, then how come I'm happier when reading about Wiccan beliefs than I am at church? Well idk how you been taught or raise but I believe God couldn't be any happier when we seek the truth and not follow in blind faith. We're suppose to believe the small still voice or the burning of the bussem of the holy ghost. I believe that God is happy that you aren't taking the simple path of blind faith. I believe he is thrilled that are trying to the find the truth and i'm sure you will. :)

They prob have different views on religion and god ECT. Personally I think u can believe in whatever you want too . But this band does rock n I love her voice , if I can imagine an angel singing it would be here ;)

in my opinion, its about people who truly believe theyre doing the right thing for religion, and use use religion as a way to justify their actions no matter how horrible, realizing what they are really doing. Kinda like the horror of a reality check, and now she/they/he/whatever gender you want to take it despite the singer being female, are wondering if they can redeem themselves.

To believe what is more like me? They all act as if they are doing the right thing, yet they always say 'you won't get into heaven if you don't!'. Umm, last I checked I do good things because as humans we should try to help each other, not because it's 'the Christian thing to do!'!
