    Such great ideas! When I make my coffee in the morning I use my finger over the top and draw a pentacle and at each point say, Peace, Protection, Health, Happiness, Prosperity, Abundance, and then circle it say Love. 💜 Also, when going to sleep, if I'm feeling anxious or my thoughts won't turn off for the night I start listing things I'm grateful for (in my head) and before I know it, I'm asleep.

    One thing I try to do every day I actually learned from Pema Chodron, the buddhist nun. Each day I try to do something to ward off what she calls ‘perfecting gloominess’. You do this by noticing aloud to yourself small good things that happen throughout the day. You are cold, so you put on a sweater and you are no longer cold. And you notice that out loud. You eat something that tastes good, and make a note of it, also out loud. You see a beautiful tree or a cute puppy or whatever it is. Note it out loud. The idea is to create for yourself a positive space; a positive energy about you. Otherwise it is much too easy to only remember the bad things that happen and in doing that, perfect gloominess in your life.

    I've begun doing a gratitude ritual with my prayer beads every day that has absolutely changed my practice and become one of my favorite things. I have a set of prayer beads dedicated to Mother Earth that has green, blue, and brown colored beads. If I'm on the green beads, I will give thanks for herbs, plants, trees, and other greenery that provides us with food, medicine, oxygen, shelter, etc. If I'm on the brown beads, I will give thanks for the soil which we can use to grow our plants and herbs, and for the creatures of earth that we can commune with (including humans) And for the blue beads, I give thanks for water, which cleanses us and quenches our thirst. This is such a wonderful practice to do every morning. It helps me start the day in a grateful mindset and remind myself that all life on this earth is connected.

    I love all your ideas here! It's inspiring me to shake things up in my own daily practice, I definitely want to incorporate more journaling and devotionals. A gratitude practice is something that helps me deeply, it really helped shift my mindset in the past when I was struggling and continues to be a great base. It's such an underrated yet powerful thing to do! I do a daily tarot pull most days but I don't pressure myself if I'm not feeling up to it. Sometimes I just like to sit at my altar and turn on my fairy lights, light a couple candles, and just bask in the pretty colors and listen to music for a bit. Just spending time there, not even having to do anything in particular, has been great for me! Lots of love! 🦋

    I love that you don't pressure yourself! I think that's such a huge key. Showing ourselves kindness and patience helps us to actually "succeed" in the long run. It helps us to stick with our goals and keep on striving for them. When we put too much pressure on ourselves we inevitably drop the ball and usually that snowballs into not doing anything. having chill days is totally a thing 😊 Pottering at the altar is so soul nourishing too, I love it! Thank you so much for sharing Melody! xoxo

    I've been doing daily rituals too, lately. I have been in a real witch slump for years! One thing I have always done, cause I figured something is better than nothing, is offering gratitude. I pray every morning, in my car, on my way to work...which is where I will say aloud what I am grateful for. Sometimes I go into this whole convo with mother Goddess & father God...lol But yeah, just talking things out that bothers me, helps. But I always try to focus on my gratitude & I mention that. Thanks Owlvine for bringing that up...and all that you have mentioned here. Blessed be 🌟

Plus i find the smells comforting and it helps me feel more witchy and magical. 😁😁 Thank you for your awesome tips and I love the idea of a protective egg made of vines ❤️❤️🌸. I am so trying that !! I hear that Shanti! Love my witchy KZread 😁 And I agree with you 100% and I wish I had of stressed that in the video. When I started daily practice I began keeping a "habit tracker". This wasn't to lord it over myself but to observe how often I could do the thing. Being kind to ourselves is for sure a secret to success. When we berate and belittle ourselves for "failing" we're far less likely to actually get to the point where we are meeting our goals. When we meet ourselves with compassion and encouragement we get a lot further. We don't HAVE to do something every day, and it's okay when we don't 😊 Thank you for your support and kindness lovely, it means a lot! Many blessings xoxo

    I usually (recent craziness has led me to stop for a while) light a small candle each night for my ancestors. I greet each of the spirits on my altar, then light a bit of smudge to cleanse for the evening. I also work with a pair of deities, one for dawn and one for dusk. I used to light a candle (like a tiny birthday candle) and light one in the morning and one as close to sunset as I could and greet them and say thank you for the dawn/dusk today. As offerings, I give flowers from my yard/garden to two of my deities. Well, not just two. But one of them gets the first blooms of anything especially in spring. I also do a cleansing chant in the shower while charging my hands with energy in the flowing water, and pour/sprinkle the water over all of my bits. At the end I wash my hands in the energy and shake them off. In this practice it’s really important to me that I don’t wash the energy “away” because there’s no such thing as away. It always goes somewhere. You can send it to the universe or whatever to be reused. But I wash mine to Niddhog, who chews away rot and decay. So all my stagnation, illness, and darkness I wash away with the water to him so he can chew it up and get energy from that.

    I've done the daily tarot card before, and I just recently started doing it again, and I have to say it can end up being way harder than expected after a while. Like I don't know what it is, but sometimes the cards will come up with a really heavy message and it'll just set my whole day off on a more shadowy tone than I woke up with, and that always seems to happen when I'm thinking I could really use a break. I have to believe it's for my highest good to push through and do the shadow work when the cards say so, but it can be surprisingly difficult to keep up with sometimes.

  • @Owlvine

    @Owlvine

    3 жыл бұрын

    I so get what you mean! I think there are times when it can be super helpful to push through and work that shadow stuff, but I have a couple of other suggestions which may or may not resonate and be useful... The first is that it might work to pull your card of the day in the evening instead. So rather than it being a divination it's more of a reflection where you've got the opportunity to see where that theme came up in your day... whether it was related to you or someone you came in contact with. The next is switching up Tarot with an Oracle Deck. Generally speaking (obviously depending on the deck) Oracle can have a more gentle voice, but also in my experience it's no less profound. Wishing you all the best! xo

    @@Owlvine Great suggestions! I do morning cards using 3 Oracle decks -- they do have a much gentler tone. I use Blessed Be Celtic Blessings, Mystical Wisdom, and Animal Spirit...Even when the messages are more serious they are encouraging and uplifting. I've also learned that if a card doesn't connect, I ask if there is someone else who might need that blessing today. I don't do tarot in the AM - I need blessings and grace in the morning rather than working through stuff which is where I find Tarot most beneficial. :) :) Glad to see you back! Blessed Be!

    Thank you 🌟😇 - so, my practices are based on the Stella Matutina temple of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. It’s quite thorough, but something I’d share is something Israel Regardie considered important - a solar adoration at dawn (or upon rising), noon, sunset and midnight (or bedtime.) It can be simple or complex, read from a script or improvised, but one takes the time to face the sun and get in touch with the unique energies of each direction and declare an adoration. If you think about the parts of a day corresponding to the parts of a year, or the seasons of your life, you get closer to understanding what the four energies are all about… and why Dawn was of primary importance in my tradition. Thank you ❤️

    I love that, thank you so much for sharing this beautiful snapshot of your practice with us all Friar 😊 I really appreciate it! I can see how expanding the observation of the four elements like this would lend to the depth and breadth of understanding them. I think this tip from the Golden Dawn will something a lot of people will benefit from folding into their own practice after reading this. You and your wisdom are much appreciated! xo

    Fantastic video! I love these ideas. Some of the things that have made up my practise over the last few years have been tea meditations, magickal morning baths or showers. I typically Reiki or bless the water with intention, and add moon water or water safe crystals to the bath. Sound healing or shamanic music as I bathe is particularly grounding/centring on mornings where my energy feels scattered or floaty. In terms of offerings somethings I offer are a daily commitment of caring for my dog, so when I feed or water my dog I offer the energy in that commitment to Hekate. I buy pomegranate scented house products in honor of Persephone. Recently I found pomegranate dishwasher tablets, so when I set the dishwasher to run, I give thanks to Persephone, and bless the water that washes our dishes. I've been making room cleansing sprays with moon water and oils, and create my sacred space with a spray of intention before I journal or pull my daily cards. Having a daily practise for me has been a massive part of supporting myself through my journey with anxiety. It has helped me create a solid foundation of self trust which has lead to confidence I have never had before. The Taurus in me loves routine, but I find I have to change up the routine every month to minimize stagnation and boredom.

    Thank you so much for sharing your magical practices with us Chonel! What brilliant ideas 😊 I love how you dedicate taking care of your puppy to Hecate, and how cool that you found pomegranate dishwasher tablets for Persephone - perfect! I love how some of what you shared is such a great example of how everyday things become magical when we add our focus and intent into them. I hear you on changing up your routines. There are 6 "Human Needs" that we all have... one of them is certainty (routine) and the other is uncertainty (variety). Both are super important! It's so great you've figured out a way to harmonize these in your practice 😊 Many blessings! xox

    I like the idea of devoting your learning of the craft to a diety. There are a lot of thing that we dont think of as offerings that totally can be like exercise, journaling, learning a new skill that the god, goddess, deities or ancestors we work with appreciate. They want to see us grow and flourish. So if your doing it for yourself why not devote it to your special someone. I think in doing that we will hold ourselves more accountable and push harder.

    Great video! Back to basics! I have been keeping my practice ultra simple anyway lately. I also really like just cleansing and clearing w my morning shower and it REALLY helps when I'm feeling ill or depressed....and I use positive affirmations a lot. Oh and I "visit" w my crystals every day.
