Wish | Official Trailer

Фильм және анимация

Be careful what you wish for ⭐️ Watch the NEW trailer for Disney's #Wish, coming only to theaters this Thanksgiving.
Revealed today are additional members of the film’s voice cast, who join previously announced cast members Ariana DeBose, who voices 17-year-old heroine Asha; Chris Pine, who lends his voice to the formidable King Magnifico; and Alan Tudyk, who provides the memorable voice of Asha’s pet goat, Valentino.
Cast members include:
Angelique Cabral as Queen Amaya, the wife and sounding board of King Magnifico; Victor Garber as Asha’s grandfather, Sabino, who-at 100 years old-is patiently waiting for his wish to be granted; and Natasha Rothwell as Asha’s loving and supportive mom, Sakina.
Plus, Asha’s tight-knit group of confidants, protectors and forever friends: Jennifer Kumiyama as Asha’s dearest friend, Dahlia, who’s an accomplished baker and unofficial leader of their group; Evan Peters as the strong guy with a big heart and bigger yawn, Simon; Harvey Guillén as Gabo, who may be cynical, but he has a heart of gold; Ramy Youssef as Safi, who’s plagued by allergies; Niko Vargas as Asha’s joyful, always smiling buddy, Hal; Della Saba as the seemingly shy teenager, Bazeema, who’s full of surprises; and Jon Rudnitsky as Asha’s rosy-cheeked, wiggly-eared pal, Dario.
ABOUT THE MOVIE
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Wish” is an all-new musical-comedy welcoming audiences to the magical kingdom of Rosas, where Asha, a sharp-witted idealist, makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force-a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star confront a most formidable foe-the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico-to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen. Featuring the voices of Academy Award®-winning actor Ariana DeBose as Asha, Chris Pine as Magnifico, and Alan Tudyk as Asha’s favorite goat, Valentino, the film is helmed by Oscar®-winning director Chris Buck (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) and Fawn Veerasunthorn (“Raya and the Last Dragon”), and produced by Peter Del Vecho (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster Jones (“Encanto”). Jennifer Lee (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) executive produces-Lee and Allison Moore (“Night Sky,” “Manhunt”) are writers on the project. With original songs by Grammy®-nominated singer/songwriter Julia Michaels and Grammy-winning producer/songwriter/musician Benjamin Rice, plus score by composer Dave Metzger, “Wish” opens only in theaters on Nov. 22, 2023.

It's exhausting to me. Feels misogynistic as hell... the last princess we had that was even remotely confident in herself was Merida. Treating shy, awkward, "quirky", oftentimes unintelligent women as the default is not good for little girls.

@@chelseaf.3352 I understand that it could be repetitive, but come on, it's not as big of a deal as you're making it out to be. Little girls won't automatically become negatively affevted iust because of "awkward" female protagonists. Most protagonists in existence have cliche or similar traits and behaviors. It has nothing to do with misogyny, rather lazy writing.

Greetings. This is the mastermind of the campaign which transpired 5 years ago during Into The Spiderverse's release and which started Disney and Pixar's downfall during Ralph 2's flop. These 5 years of war against Disney and Pixar are bearing fruit after the quiet years of anime destroying Disney and Pixar since 1995 (Ghost In The Shell and Evangelion outliving Pocahontas and Toy Story). We would like to thank Chris Miller, Phil Lord, Guillermo Del Toro, Christopher Nolan, Makoto Shinkai, Hayao Miyazaki, the fanbase and the production teams of their films for making this war possible. The call for holy terrorism against Disney, Pixar and Barbie and the high bounty on the heads of Bob Iger and Greta Gerwig are still in effect. Now that Elemental, Kraken and Barbie are successfully done for by supporters of this cause, give the final blow by destroying Wish and make Disney and Pixar permanently shutdown on their 100th anniversary for not evolving their storytelling and character development. Let it be known that the cinema industry is changing so make sure nothing gets in the way of the cinema war of the decade.💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣

So I have a theory as to why he doesn’t grant everyone’s wishes: to simply put it, they need to be realistic and within his authority (because any king can give someone knighthood, though the difference is with here is that he makes a big spectacle out of it). My best guess is that most of those wishes would require to bend reality to his whim and will, which he probably can’t do. Think about it, he’s a powerful magician, not a genie.

I mean that's why most people know that finding a wishing lamp that grants 3 wishs is almost always a bad thing. You need to sit down and really think through you wish and all the consequences and most people don't do that so it's reasonable that most wishs will never be granted. I actually also heard that the one who gives their wish to the king will have their memory erased of having the wish, if it is not granted. Which is most of the time. And hey, maybe some of them have the luck of the wish not being that bad. Even if they have to figure it out a bit to make it work once it’s granted. But Rosas society seems like a place where they have more of the time and care to think about they’re wish. But again, I’m not against not granting some of the wishes.

Well, I actually decided to pay more attention to the part of the trailer where Asha and King Magnifico argued. Cause I didn’t think I heard it right. And I was actually worried about the same thing you are in your comment. But I decided to really pay attention to all the info I had about the movie. And here is my conclusion. For now. Apparently Asha only asked if some the wishes will never be granted. The King replied that he doesn’t grant most of them. I heard from others who had the privilege to watch the first minutes of Wish, that he only grants the ones that benefit him. Yes, not all the wishes can be granted. But that many is extreme. Some of those could have been simple harmless wishes. Asha only said she thought that the people of Rosas deserved more than what was being given. Only for Magnifico to angrily say he decided what everyone deserves. What does he think everyone deserves though? He’s the main antagonist. Asha’s real problem she has to deal with is her idealism. While she’s not wrong on what the problem is, and wishing for more than what is being given. She is likely going to be wrong on how to solve the problems realistically with her ideals. Over time it could be pretty good character development for her. It would also be a good lesson for everyone to learn on how to balance ideals with realistic approaches. The movie poster even says, be careful what you wish for. Knowing Asha brought down the wishing star, and got a more direct answer to her wish than she bargained for. It could show that she should have thought through a lot more of what she wished for. And the star is described as a trouble making type. But very bubbly and positive. And she will have to learn how to deal with that.

to me it really seems that the message is "no matter the wish even if it brings chaos is a good wish" and that's not right.... the king isn't really the bad guy, to make only some and not all wishes happen to where chaos doesn't ensue makes sense, thats wise, it makes sure that not everything is granted because some things can be too outragous. seeing how he does seem to do the plausible, want to be a knight? be a knight! want to fall in love? fall in love! it's not cynical things he's not granting. this movie is just to me feels like saying a few things 1. bad straight white man bad and 2. even if your wish is outragous it should come true....that's stupid

Let it be known that the cinema industry is changing so make sure nothing gets in the way of the cinema war of the decade.💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣

Very interesting concept for a movie. The King is not wrong in that not everyone should have their wishes granted. While he may be stopping wishes that would undermine his power, there is a good chance that granting all wishes would cause utter chaos. Not to mention if you could just wish for anything, what is even the point of living? A life with no hardships and no challenges would diminish a person's chance for growth and make all accomplishments meaningless. I get the feeling that the ending will be something like "only those who are truly good or pure of heart will get their wishes granted." Another option would be "only those who wish on the correct star will have their wishes granted" since maybe there's only one true wishing star.

The painter would be totally within their right to decide which requests they accepted and which ones they rejected. I don't think he was right the whole time. If you watched the movie, he became obsessed with holding all wishes captive and using them for HIS benefit (power and energy). Meanwhile, citizens of the Kingdom weren't able to express their wholeselves as something was missing (the wishes they gave up in hope's of them coming true).

@leomraifur I don't think it's that stupid, and here's why. (Spoilers) Asha wanted originally to have her family members see their wishes because she knew that they'd never be granted (supposedly "dangerous" yet not at all the case - Macnifico). You're more than welcome to have that opinion, but I actually grew to like Asha later in the movie. She was kinda bland at the start, but slowly showed some character. As well, the songs are great and I think the actors can really sing.

I like how our protagonist already has a clear flaw: she throws caution to the wind without thinking of consequences, it’s a lesson she has to learn throughout the film Edit: I never meant to imply that idealism isn’t a good thing, just that quick actions can get someone into dangerous situations, it’s a flaw if it puts her and her people in danger or has the potential to do so

Not to mention she’s described as an Idealist. But a certain amount of idealism isn’t exactly good if you know what I mean. While she isn’t wrong about our villain. I already made a comment on why. She may be wrong on how to solve the problem, since it may be a little unrealistic.

@@R.P.-hw2rq I personally only saw her as sort of awkward and good hearted. But I don’t really think she was actually bubbly? Otherwise she would have been overly positive like the star. Otherwise I do agree with you. Thankfully the creators did mention Asha is meant to be many things. So this is probably one of many sides we will see of her. I see she can be more serious and thoughtful in other scenes. Like the debate she had with King Magnifico about not granting most of the wishes. Pretty extreme to not grant most of them to be honest. I get that some of them shouldn’t be granted. But that many is extreme.

Yeah, to me that’s the difference between Marvel and DC heroes. Heroes like Spider-Man and Star Lord you could relate to. One is a teen who was given tragedy and great responsibilities overnight, and now must do good. Meanwhile with Superman, he is an alien sent from galaxies away, raised on Earth by loving parents and now fights for the common good the the strength and powers of a god, and other heroes in DC are similar. In summary, you relate to Marvel, but aspire to DC.

Me too, I think we have a huge lack of "superman" characters in film and tv now. This is why I like Phineas and Ferb, neither of them really have any problems to overcome, and have superhuman characteristics in terms of dealing with problems that other people in the show (like their sister Candace) have to overcome.
