I got extra lucky. In the sarcastic way. I had *six* wisdom teeth. Because that rarely happens. Severe nightmare, unimaginable pain, like a fever and a migraine combined with no sleep for 2 days straight; that kinda ache. Makes you scream and cry. The human body has some... Issues.

I’ve had my wisdom teeth for a while they never truly caused any pain for me and I’m glad for that the only pain they ever caused was the pain of them growing in ripping through the gum but that’s normal and not that bad

I had the same feeling, until my dentist friend casually peek inside my mouth, told me to do an X-ray and get back to him. He surmised that my bottom row is not as aligned as the top row so there might be wisdom teeth hiding below and gave me a recommendation letter to do X-ray at the local clinic. Turned out it's a horizontal wisdoom (pun intended) teeth on bottom left & right that had been pushing my bottom row of teeth that caused the misalignment. Immediately scheduled an extraction with him and the rest is history.

just lost a tooth because of the wisdom impacting it for years.. i hope the wisdom takes its place now

So this actually happened to me and it resulted in a cracked tooth Becuase of the way the wisdom tooth pushed the other teeth to give it space and it made the other teeth almost cave in which made the wisdom tooth the only tooth that side to have contact with the upper teeth. So I got an infection in my wisdom tooth nerve and had to get a root canal on it since it’s considered apart of my permanent set now from the missing tooth. This was my bottom right wisdom tooth and I lost my second molar as a kid and it’s only now causing problems 12 years later.

Got all my 4 wisdom teeth taken out 4 days ago a breeze but the aftermath is painful so take your medicine on time and don’t eat foods you have no business eating the whole week.soft foods are the best comfort and safe if you are getting this procedure done

I had all of mine taken out. The top two were easy break and pull jobs by a local dentist but both of the bottom ones were impacted and one had a cavity so, surgery was the only option. Though, I had a great surgeon in a local city and I have never had anesthesia before but, honestly, it was the best sleep I've had in a long time. There's definitely risks for the surgery so it's important to find a good surgeon but, it's worth it.

Man I got lucky and all my wisdom despite one having a massive cavity in the front were easily pulled completely intact.

I’ve only just got one of my wisdom teeth out at 27 and I’m glad all my wisdoms had some type of wisdom grew in vertical

Got all 4 horizontal ones removed a couple days ago- It sucks-

Just got my two impacted wisdom teeth out, I'm 25 and the recovery was not too bad, however they destroyed my second molars and now I have to get both of those taken out and get dental implants to replace them. Moral of the story is don't let it become a problem if you can avoid it. 😐

i feel lucky i can see and feel mine coming in vertically. I'm still waiting to wake up in some type of pain in the middle of the night lol. i have to wait for my insurance card then i have to schedule and wait for an appointment hopefully they stay chill until that happens.

​@cigaftersx General pain the back of your jaw. Consistent headaches, trouble eating, chewing, and talking occasionally. Another way to know is of you go to the dentist for like a 6 month check up they tend to take x-rays. And if you're around about 16 or 17 they usually check for your wisdom teeth, as long as you continue to go you'll get updates on what's going on and surgery plans if they're ready to come out.

Is this really the way some people think of their wisdom teeth? I got all of mine vertically and they are useful to me, I don't plan on getting rid of them at all. They give me pain occassionally but it's mild and for no longer than 24 hours

@user-ki4llalm6kr yeah, some of us aren't so lucky, with the different impactions and even smaller mouths it can be extremely painful.

I had three of them removed. Only one was "wise" and got deleted in mere seconds. Other two? They were anti-wisdom, since the surgeon spent like 4 hours removing them. I hope my last tooth doesn't come out at all

I'm 13 and experienced this and that pain heart really bad now the pain isn't as bad but that was the worst pain ever my other molars didn't hurt

I had a horizontal tooth. Good thing it was caught early. Also thankful I only had 3 wisdom teeth. Kept the pain to a minimum

First clip exactly how my wisdom teeth grow right now

I had 2 different surgeries for my wisdom teeth removal, and both were horizontally impacted. The surgeries took around 30 minutes each (they used something like a drill to clear up the residues), local anesthesia, and no pain during the surgery except for some pressure. The real pain starts around 6 hours after the surgery, expect it to continue for at least 3 days. That area of your face gets bruised quite a lot for the first days. The internal bruising also makes you harder to open your mouth (it took a few weeks for me to return back to normal). The good news is if you suffer this problem, you will have that surgery only once in your life (for each tooth to be specific).

All mine were removed. They grew in badly and caused issues, I’d have recurrent infections in one of them and the other 3 didn’t have enough room to grow in

Well in ancient times the jaw was big enough to fit all 4 wisdom teeth, but when the jaw became too small to hold the teeth I guess they just went to the nearest person with a clamp and let them rip out the annoying tooth/teeth

My wisdom teeth grew in normally no pain at all 😐 is that normal

Man I'm still not ready & not sure abt removing my wisdom teeth. The molar in front of my left wisdom tooth cracked & the dentist said I got 2 choices: either extract it or treat it, from their explanation I'm guessing it's root canal (RCT), the hole is pretty close to the nerves. Treating it will also need me to have surgery to take out the wisdom tooth tho since they kinda impact e/o It's expensive as hell & I just don't have that kinda money to pay for 2 procedures rn. Not to mention I'm still not sure how effective RCT is, will there be no other issues in the future afterwards? Reading more info abt it just makes me nervous since many of the results seem to vary Dentist also said that taking it out & letting the wisdom tooth grow upwards is possible too, the position is sorta lying sideways rn. Idk, I'm pretty undecided abt it since I'm v nervous, still 23 & who knows what else is gonna happen to my teeth. For now, it's been cleaned & has temporary filling, doesn't rly hurt? Unless I'm actually putting pressure on it, it ranges from "feeling uncomfortable" to "yea that rly hurts" if you press it down harder. Well, my own consequences ig, probably should've treated it quicker but unfortunately the money just wasn't available & I felt like I was still pretty uneducated abt good dental hygiene too

i think one of my wisdom teeth grew out because i have one more teeth on one side in the back and i didnt get any teeth removed or added

Both of my bottom wisdom teeth are horizontally impacted and I'm 28 and have to wait damn near a year to get em pulled because oral surgeons that take my insurance are backed up

My lowers came in sideways and messed up the teeth in front of them and the uppers came in vertical but they were rotting on the way down. I’m so glad my job has decent dental insurance. And I was lucky enough to have zero pain when I had them and 3 others removed.

I'm the unlucky person with horizontal impaction.

I just removed mine and it feels like nothing changed or missing 😂

I had only three wisdom teeth, the fourth never formed so it doesn’t exist. But I had horizontal impaction 🥲 the bottom one was very close to the nerve and the top two were in my sinuses. I’m still recovering (week 4 after the surgery) and I still get pain and soreness
