QUOTING P. SUE BECKWITH, MD, HEAD COACH LISA BLUDER
“It feels good just to begin Big Ten play with a 20-point victory on the road. This conference is so hard, and any time you go on the road you got to love it if you get a victory. I’m really happy with the way we shot the ball, especially in the second half. Our defense in the second quarter I thought was really good. It gave us that cushion going into half time, and we kept that momentum going into the third quarter.”

Caitlyn walked just as 23 walked. They either need to call it or don't call it.

Well, then, I will tell you what I saw. At 2:40, Clark extends her off-ball arm and hand to push off defenders three times on one drive. Looks like a third-grader just learning the game. 😂 6:06 -- Clark uses both hands to push off defender. 6:36 -- Clark initiates contact and uses hands to push off defender. See also 7:56 and 8:30. Clark did not do it as much in the second through fourth quarters and I also saw three times Wisconsin players extended their hands in similar manner against defenders but nothing quite as egregious as Clark on that first drive cited above. I don't think it is legal for players on offense to extend their hands and arms to initiate contact and push away defenders but it may not be favoritism toward Clark for why refs are not calling it. It could be a tv-influenced "let them play" directive to the refs from NCAA to not call too many early fouls and to allow for a certain amount of physical play to keep games interesting and fast-paced exciting early in the game to get viewers hooked. It is the responsibility of opposing coaches and team captains to talk to the refs about it but it may be they have and are being ignored. I can also assure you who have not yet watched WNBA games that not only is that not done in the W, but also I think Clark will run into trouble quickly in the W doing that. You have to use your body to shield the ball. WNBA is very physical, as the college women's game is becoming.

So the refs are biased for Iowa. They're going to make sure they win no matter who they play. BUT Wisconsin is making a lot of simple mistakes.
