So much for the number one oath.. Do NO harm. Which means, spiritual, physical, mental, emotional. That nurse failed on all accounts. I agree I hope that "nurse" if that is what you call her looses her lic and has some discipline dealt to her. I've seen this many times they are lazy and look at a inmate as trash and are treated as such.. I was told that ALL inmates are consider liers and staff are trained to NOT buy into what is said, so the staff doesn't get manipulated by inmates. I prey for the families and hope they find peace some how.. I also prey for those still being treated like this.. This is the main reason inmates riot, trying to bring attention to what is happening. That attitude we talk about as to the health and wellness of the inmates are also looked down on from the public as well..

WI prisons are operating at crisis levels for some time. No staff rises well above the "everyone has staffing issues". This is well known. How does this fall to one man? The entire system is broken. Dont they have a lawsuit about this currently? They have been having job events without results. Spend more money wont help that problem.

It is even worse than they are describing here. The abuse and torment and torture are UnPresidented. It has been incredibly high temperatures across the country and none of these prisons have air-conditioning. They could be in concrete cells with no windows and the temperatures can exceed 110° with no air circulating. This is enough itself can cause somebody to become a delusional, hyperventilate with extreme anxiety.

It’s about time someone takes a stand. It only takes 1 to get the ball rolling before others find the guts to take a stand. Inmates have a right to be treated with Dignity and Humanity regardless of their crimes!

Enforcers are convicted prisoners and do this for favors.

Private prisons should be outlawed!!! NO ONE should profit off of someone else’s incarceration!! That only leads to more incentive to lock more people up and for longer periods of time!! It’s a travesty how we treat prisoners in the USA!! It’s also a travesty that our jails and prisons have become warehouses for the drug addicted (which guards profit off of) and the mentally ill!! These people should be in treatment facilities and mental hospitals NOT jails or prisons!!! How a country treats the weakest/sickest most vulnerable amongst us says EVERYTHING about that country!! We need to overhaul our prison system & we’d be wise to look at prison system in Sweden Norway etc who focus on rehabilitation instead of straight out cruel and unusual punishment like we do!! They have a MUCH lower recidivism rate than we do that’s for sure!!!

Yeah it’s insane how much power these prisons have. When someone dies they literally put this machine on their chest which appears to keep the heart pumping, but the guy had been dead for hours and the reason they put this device on there body is to cover up whatever happened and say that the person was pronounced DOA and the jail/prison doesn’t have to be acclimated. I’ve never felt so degraded in my life some of these guards are just pure evil.

As a nurse, you think its appropriate for this sheriff to do an investigation in a state run facility and arrest a Warden for (I forget the charge, but amounts to corruption in public office)? How would a warden know exactly what his staff is doing, if by the sheriffs own admission - procedures were not followed by staff and/or falsely documented ("patient refused meds." etc...)? Per the sheriff, the warden oversees 4 prisons (atleast 1 is max security) and to have 4 deaths over a years time...??? I mean, how does he stop people from commiting suicide, or taking drugs (I see why the people who do these jobs should be charged, in some instances, but....). Does this sound right to you? Do you speak w the warden about your daily activity? If so, how often? Something is not right here.... seems a lot more sinister than just arresting some officials?!?!?!

So we would all ask them questions and they explained that for about $750, you can get a cheap flip phone smuggled in, and that smart phones cost like $1500. They said their families will pay these “dirty guards” through Cashapp etc, and then the guards smuggle them in. He explained that there’s usually one inmate who goes through the dirty guard. That person earns a “commission” for arranging it, which keeps the anonymity of the guard and less chance of that guard getting caught. It’s a huge money racket by the sounds of it and a lot of these guards are making more in a month smuggling contraband in, then they do in their paycheck.

I was incarcerated in Clark County jail for a period of 6 months and I was prescribed medicine of Xanax for anxiety and panic attacks. I was having a difficult time suffering from severe withdrawal symptoms. One morning I was walking the perimeter of the cell block and all of a sudden I felt as though I was having a heart attack.I ended up blacking out and I awoken with my cell mates standing above me trying to get me to come to. They said that they pushed the button to let the C.O.'s know that there's a inmate laying on the floor unconscious and they said that there would be someone to come in to check on me. Needless to say that it was over a hour before they took me to the nurse's office to be checked out and she said that there was nothing wrong with me! I thought about taking this to court but didn't because I figured nothing was going to be done about it.

These tragedies happen in every single prison across this country. There is always that one person that has a gross cough either at press conferences or during a trial. Excuse yourself and take your germs with you.

Name the men that died. Nurse arrested? Wow. My friend was in prison in Alabama years ago, 1980s, I had to send extra things in his packages for the guards or they would take his whole package away! He was released after 10 yrs, black man & he said the guards are worse than the prisoners. Glad this sheriff is doing SOMETHING! Take a lot to fix our prisons.

Given the circumstances this place hasn't changed in the slightest in 24 years. One of my buddies was leaving my grad party back in 1997 on graduation night on foot with a bunch of our other friends. The cops ( superior police department stopped them just across the tracks ) and asked them for their I'ds knowing full well we were all a bunch of 16 and 17 year old kids having a graduation party. The cops ( Gary gothner, George gothner, Todd Carlson, and Brad esler) told them they are under arrest for underage drinking and this specific guy booked it on foot. The cops showed up at his parents house something like two months later and charged him with felony escape and the state of Wisconsin waived him into adult court. This guy did 5 years of hard time due to the escape risk charge and went to dodge correctional and got staffed to waupon. I heard the stories from this specific kid when he came home about how the inmates were being treated and how the correctional officers and warden's never did anything to the correctional officers.

With our system of justice they're innocent until proven or pleads guilty in a court of law and everyone has a right to bail, unless they're a threat to the public. I can completely understand your worry and frustration but also realize what this Sheriff is doing is unprecedented in this country so perhaps these arrests will put them on their toes to properly care for the other inmates.

Speaking to inmates is going on, but inmates speaking to staff or guards will INSTANTLY put the inmate at risk, it's called snitching. When an inmate talks to staff, it's always going to be assumed, by the other inmates, to be snitching. Don't be fast to bitch or make blanket statements, if you didn't know prison life. Please. M

@@mwatts-riley2688 There is a difference in snitching and an individual standing up for their rights and others rights. Their not telling on anyone most importantly they are standing up for each other NOT what any did or didn't do. I do understand your point I have been there and back. Again, I say this is not snitching, unless you look at the guards that might have A PROBALM but they ARE the problem.. :)
