Wiring Diagram Wired Through the Switches Lighting Circuit - Extending the Circuit Adding Downlights
In this video we look a method of wiring 2 way and intermediate switching of a lighting circuit when the system is wired through the switch. In this system the neutral is taken through each of the switches meaning at all 3 switches you will have a connection for the neutral In the back box. This wiring diagram should help you visualise the method of wiring 2 way and intermediate switches when the feed is taken through the switches. I now look into the connections require so the feed can be taken to another room or area within the building and how we can add more lighting point (LED downlights) to the circuit.

Nice video. It has clarified what is going on in one of my switches at-home which is a 3 gang with 2 2-way switches and 1 single switch. 6 cables coming into the back box and 4 lives into the common connection. Seems a bit trickier than the loop in method and very crammed. Love your videos. Great explanations and attention to detail.

How would you go about doing an electrical installation certificate, on double insulated fixed appliances such as a iskra 3 phase sub meter with CT clamps?

Only time I would ever bring a neutral to a switch would be to supply external lighting to a driveway or garden.

What about smart switches?
Na to much clutter in the switches and a bit confusing . But might stop the DIYers And the first track boggers ? Great video Gaz as always we were never tort that method when we did the 236 , I get it could be useful at some point. And another skill. For us real electricians. 👍👍❤️⚡️
You wouldn’t be allowed to get a feed from that 2away switch if the feed wasn’t EOL (end of line)
