WIRING and BATTENS | Camper Van Conversion UK Vlog - Citroen Relay - Week 8

Starting our Electrics! Camper Van Conversion UK Vlog - Citroen Relay - Week 8
Week 8 of converting our 2015 L4H2 Citroen Relay into a CAMPERVAN!
This weekend Laz becomes the electrician of the van conversion and I become the wood carpenter! Think this is going to be the set-up for the foreseeable!
DISCLAIMER
I'm not a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to follow along. If you are doing your own conversion please consult / hire a QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.
Join us next week for even more battens (hopefully the last!!), Laz figuring out the roof rack/framing for our solar panels and preparing the doors for carpets! It's 2 weekends in one so expect more recent uploads as currently running 2 weeks(ish) behind!

Great work, a little tip for your b2b charger there is a conversion socket on the driver's side door b pillar which is already wired into the main battery and fused at 50 amps that you can connect up to, you just have to remove the black plastic trim at the bottom of the b pillar to get at it

Thanks for the tip! I might be able to tap into that for some other stuff very useful! We'll be using a 60amp charger (2x victron orion tr b2b most likely) So I guess I couldn't run it to that, it's also on the other side from our batteries so I think the cable might be longer then running it direct to the battery Would be perfect for a 30a charger and if our batteries were on the driver side bench!

@@cboyerrrrr Thanks for following ! Aye we watched so many conversion series before we started to try to get our heads around it, takes a while! (For over a year) Even now that we started we spend so much time researching before each task! Exhausting but it will be worth it !

Great job you are doing guys. I am watching you as i am a few steps behind. Quick question, will you have a 12V water pump? As i did not see wiring for that, or maybe you just forgot to mention it in the video. Also some spare wires, just in case you want to add something later would be a great idea, at this stage, in my opinion. Cheers.

Hey Codrin! Thanks for following along and suggesting great ideas, much appreciated! Please keep it up incase we miss something :D Well spotted for the water pump! We haven't ran a line for that yet, most likely we'll have it under chassis (so the line will go through the floor at the electrical bench to the pump mounted under chassis near the tanks) Most lines I ran are dedicated to a single thing so I should be able to add extra things to it If I need to down the line. I do like your suggestion of running a few spares maybe, especially to the areas that are far away and would be painful to add after all the furniture is in. Do you have any suggestions on where to run spares to, or where you think we are missing connections that might be useful later? Thanks!!

Hi, I have no idea as we kept buying more lol. I'm pretty sure I roughly measured it out based on where all the sockets etc gonna go and then rounded it up. Good Luck with your conversion!
