Wiring AC Terminals on a Victron Energy MultiPlus II

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

A few quick tips including how to use ferrules to wire up the "spring locked" 120 volt AC terminals on a Victron MultiPlus inverter charger and why NOT to use the release button when inserting wires.
Ferrules are inexpensive and widely available. One great place to get them is Ferrules Direct:

If u read the red label carefully, it actually tells u to strip 18 mm or put an 18mm ferrule. U definitely want the ferrules without the housing as it also tells u that u must insert the cable 1 in .

I think it's best practice to strip back more of the outer insulation and leave strain relief so the wires can enter the terminal block at more of a 90 deg angle.

Should leave a lot more wire between the cable entry/strain relief and the terminal blocks. Also, stripped length recommendation on the inside of the equipment is 18mm. There are 18mm ferrules available and would be a better choice.

Nice video, what size cable are you using? Amsoil Adam posted a video about frying an inverter from not removing enough wire housing thus pushing too much plastic into the terminal. Victron says to remove 18 mm (0.7")...always something to worry about, lol.

Couldn’t see if you used a square or hex type crimper… do you have a preference?
