Wirework snake ring

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this tutorial I show you how to make a wirework snake ring. You can use this snake for many other things like I show you in the video. Please feel free to give it a go yourself and I hope you enjoy.
This is my original design and you are free to recreate this piece of jewellery if you like and also to sell any pieces you make from this as long as it is not commercial or wholesale, but please refrain from reproducing a tutorial for this in any way.

  • @CSLdesigns

I used just used the same 0.25mm wire that I used for the snakes. Where the snakes crossed over each other I bound them together, until I felt they were secure, and it kind of blends in because of the weave I used for the snake. I hope that made sense :-)

I saw this today. I do a little wire wrap work, this evening my husband said someone was wanting a snake ring... How on earth do you make a snake??? I asked myself.. and tadaaa.. I youtube'd it and there you are!!! Oh, I pondered.. copper or craft wire??? I had a beautiful crystal for the head.. I made it.. oh my goodness.. torture!! My fingers hurt.. I had to take about 5 breaks, even a drive around town... If I could only show you.. but you know, I didn't do the twisty.. lazy.. too lazy.. but goodness it came out nice.. it's three inches long, wrapped around my finger twice, the both ends go past my knuckles.. wow.. I'm going to do a patina in the morning.. I can't wait to see what it will look like... I wish I could show you.. Thank you so much for the tutorial.. I love it.. but I will not do it again.. hurt my fingers, those wires are half hard, and unforgiving.. lol.. you're terrific, thank you so much... Happy New Year...

***** That's great. I'm glad my tutorial was helpful then. Yes, your hands and fingers can certainly ache from it, but it will get better when you get more used to it, or maybe try and work with some softer wire. That would also make it easier to work with. But it's never a bad idea to take breaks. I am not to good at that myself :-P That sounds like a lovely idea with the patina. i would love to see how that turns out. You could always go to my Facebook page and post a picture there or send me an email with it. A happy New Year to you to ;-)
