I have a Golf VII 2016 and I was wondering what would be the best Android Wireless dongle to use. I am inclined to AAWireless mostly because seems to have up to date support. Motorola M1 also seems to be good, but I would like to know the perspective from a Golf VII owner, ideally that have used a few. What is the most compatible/reliable one for my car?

Does your car turn off the USB ports at car engine shut down? Because some will keep them on, at least a good time after closing the car and keeping it connected could drain the battery. Also, do you have a chance to check it with some new phones like Samsung S23 Ultra or a new VW/Skoda/Seat car?

Can you help me with the dimming in the “auto” position? Especially often in the morning when the sun is not that high up, the speedometer lighting switches off completely, so that you can hardly see the speed scale anymore because the sun is shining so brightly against me and the background lighting is off when it is in the “Auto” position . Can I coding the brightness sensor with OBDeleven so that it never turns off the lighting completely? My MIB 2 is also not that brightly. Thanks in advance. I've noticed many times that people have similar problems with the speedometer lighting:)

Hello, My car audi a3 2.0 tdi (2023) has wireless android auto but it is factory locked. I dont know if it has wired Anroid Auto but I believe it has. I can enable the wireless anroid auto permantly only via audi application, but it costs 600 euros! When I enabled it for a day test it worked fine, but I don't know if it works wired too, because 11:41 AM the wireless mode doesn't turned off. In my case does it works or first i should enable the anroid auto from audi application? Thank you!

It does. If your is not enabled yet, there are community based ways to change that.

Miałem poprzednią wersję. Mieszkam w Warszawie. Kiedy przejeżdżałem obok anten komórkowych, wystąpił problem z połączeniem. Urządzenie po prostu się wyłączyło. Zauważyłem, że zawsze jest w pobliżu anten komunikacyjnych. Niestety przestałem korzystać z urządzenia - w mieście jest wiele anten i ciągle się wyłączało. Czy zauważyłeś ten problem i czy występuje on w nowej wersji?

I have a 2015 golf R running with mib1 will this still work ok using an mib to usb adapter to connect the cable.

MIB1 does not support CarPlay nor AndroidAuto. You can replace the main unit with proper MIB2 or look for a CarPlay box that goes between your current MIB1 main unit and the display. Może być winny bezpiecznik od zasilania HUBa USB, może być winny kabelek +5V, którym jednostka wzbudza HUBa. Może być uszkodzony HUB.

CarPlay functionality limitations are in the phone itself. You would have to jailbreak your phone and modify it to unlock additional apps for CarPlay.

I have a VW Touran 2018 model, but the menu is not an Android,it is with original Volkswagen menu. My question is, will Carlinkit work in this car?

Przytrzymaj przycisk MENU przez 3 sekundy i znajdź tam SW Train. Będzie się zaczynał od MST2 albo od MHI2. Np.: MHI2_ER_VWG11_K3342. Wejdź na mib-helper.com i wpisz tam swoją wersję. Będą informacje o większości rzeczy jakie da się zrobić w jednostce.

If you have working AppConnect, yes.

Mine just dusconnects after a while and is hard to connect again, like its connected phone to box to media but box dont show picture on car screen. what could be an issue?

Check what's your firmware. Most of them have 3rd party solutions to enable some features, including SmartLink.

Not exactly, but your most right: those devices are similar. It's more of an evolution than revolution. 2air (5.0) is bit faster, has couple more advanced settings, and it should be working with AndroidAuto only cars (where 4.0 connected only with CarPlay vehicles and allowed to pair with Android phones).

Po grubszej walce udalo mi sie update firmware zrobic ale wciaz AA sie rozlacza co 10 sekund. I caly internet obsrany linkami afiliacyjnymi a dopiero na amazonie w reviews mozna przeczytac jak duzemu procentowi ludzi to w ogole nie dziala. PS. Przykro mi to słyszeć. Z moim sprzętem (Golf MK7 MST2 + iPhone 11) działało bez zarzutu, więc nie wiem gdzie może być problem. Jak sprzedawałem Golfa w listopadzie, to jedną z nielicznych rzeczy jakie sobie zatrzymałem jest właśnie CarlinKit 5.0. Sprawdzę ponownie jak już będę miał kolejne auto.

Mam VW Arteon 2017 Discover Pro. Od ponad pół roku używam CarlinKit 4.0. Łączę to z iPhonem 13Pro oraz 12. CarlinKit 4.0 działa OK ale dość często łapie blackscreeny, restarty, niby działa ale touchscreen nie działa, albo jakieś gigalagi się tworzą. Zakupiłem na testy też CarlinKit 5.0 2air (ten z filmu) i zero różnicy. Tak naprawdę z tego co czytałem to są pod względem hardware takie same urządzenia tylko dali funkcjonalność AA i CP w jednym urządzeniu. Ja wszystkie swoje Carlinki zawsze miałem na najnowszych updatach. Mam też taki sam zestaw w Caddy 2019 z Discovery Pro i tam działa w zasadzie bezproblemowo. Czy wiesz co może być przyczyną problemów w tym Arteonie? Na moje oko to albo po prostu gryzie się z tą jednostką albo jest zbyt duża roździelczość, jezdżę zazywaczaj na google maps + satelity. Miałem czasami wrażenie, że ma problem z tym, żeby wstać od nowa - tak jakby nie czyścił cache tylko próbuje wznowić sesję i się zamula (zazwyczaj po kilku-kilkunasto minutowych postojach). Może wiesz co z tym zrobić. Z góry dziękuję za wszelką pomoc. Pozdrawiam.

Maybe has to do sth with MIB2 coding for USB media?

I have an Alhambra, late 2015, with MIB2 and Android Auto enabled and working perfectly by cable. When I wanted to go wireless I bought the AAwireless device (as a Kickstarter) but have NEVER been able to get the AAwireless device to actually connect to the MIB2 at all... Is this a better device that should actually work for me? Have you experienced the AAwireless?

Update: Bought Carlinkit 5 and just like the AAwireless it will not connect to my MIB2 Technisat running 0252 even though wired AndroidAuto through FullLink works without problem. Any ideas?

Now it just needs wireless charging

I personally have been using MagSafe charger: kzread.info/dash/bejne/poShxtV8itPNoag.html Also, in my experience, battery drain by the wireless CarPlay is lower than I expected. That's mostly due to the GPS pass-through from vehicle to the phone, which means that the position is send from the car to the phone instead of the phone using its internal GPS receiver.
