I have the Irwin VIse-Grip version of these automatic wire strippers and they are amazing!
Fast, efficient description of what we needed to know, thank you.

No demonstration with small gauge ...18, 20, 22, ....which this stripper is "supposed" to be able to do (see this noted on the handle) ......but it does a TERRIBLE JOB ON SMALL GAUGE!! .
A lot of different companies make these same wire strippers, I actually have a set of Irwin ones that I got from Lowe's and they work great, they are some of the best wire strippers I've ever had!

Do you happen to know what the plus minus circle does? What’s it’s purpose? Thanks
A demo of the brass adjusting wheel situated near cutting jaws would've been good. I've twiddled it on mine and I'm unclear it's doing anything.

Only good for larger gauge wire. No demonstration with small gauge ...18, 20, 22, ....which this stripper is "supposed" to be able to do (see this noted on the handle) ......but it does a TERRIBLE JOB ON SMALL GAUGE!! .
This was my 1st wire stripper bought for home use. What i can say is this: it works, especially it woks well on thicker gauge (16awg to 8awg) wire. Bottom line is this: 1. if you do not need to be very accurate with stripping, b/c you doing general house work, tool like this is enough. 2. If you are doing wiring which requires more accuracy and you are using thinner or stranded wire, (30awg to 18awg) get yourself a calibrated cutting stripper. 3. For extremely accurate stripping, and very thin wires (thinner than 26 awg), you will need a thermal stripper.

It's not good for stripping two or three core double insulated flat or round cables used in various appliances like table fan, heaters, microwaves, Air-conditioners etc but only those Romex cables. It's only good for stripping single individual wires and that too we need to adjust the pressure knob sometimes trial and error else it damages some strands. I have personally used it made by another manufacturer and found it semi-automatic and not fully automatic and it should have been precalibrated so that the user need not do any adjustments while working!

Thank You For This Tutorial I Hope I Will Pass My Test Later
It would be nice to see the adjustment demonstrated.
Thanks for this video. It was just what I needed since I am an amateur do-it-yourself person. Good info.
Thanks for the video. I have the same tool just under a different name. It did not come with any instructions, just specs. I appreciate the work you put into this.
Best stripper design ever!!!
I have the kincrome version of this tool. It's the best tool i own; It can strip the just outer insulation of ethernet cables and the individual ethernet wires without adjustment.
Hi Austin Pet Detective, You can get this from Sparky Direct - the link is in the description of the video if you live in Australia
I wish I had seen this video before. This is an awesome tool. Thank you very much!

Perfect 3 AM video
Guess I need to move to Australia!
While stripping the thinner double insulation two core cables it removes all insulation outside and inside. I think it's good for Romex type cables only not any other cables
God video electric wire cutting
Oh man wish I bought these instead of the pliers type one.
Looks like a great tool
Thanks for the info, I'll buy myself. Tell me please, what the camera to shoot video? Thank you.

Great for multi wire cable, but I don't like when doing individual wire, it damages the insulation too much for me....and sometimes strips from grip side instead of 'cutter' side...
Very satisfying.
Crescent has allways made good tools
GREAT VIDEO.
Wow such a handy and easy tool.
I got exactly the same I bought yesterday I just used it twice and the black plastic broken and I'm trying to cut it without the plastic it won't cut
It does damage the insulation in bigger cable sizes.
Nice mate

Great equipment
i have one, the round adjustment took off, will it he possible to repair
I wish that we had t/e cable like that instead of having to put sleeving over the bare earth wire.
Along with some othe strippers it looks almost identical to the CK model
How is it cuttin threw all of the Insulation,.. don’t see anything touching it up top
What is the screw thing on the left head? I see it bears on a steel plate between the jaws.
You try to give the video more brightness it will be great if you do
Ótimo alicate - sou do Brasil!
Nice video
Just bought a simlar set off amazon but the gripper part won`t grip the cable youcan actually move it back to where it was when fully squeezed any help would be appeciated.
شكرا لك
I guarantee you that you will take longer to order and buy, than abandon them in your toolbox, I seen many similar tools since 1986, and those who have bought this end up using regular strippers, I already forget how many years I have been using the same tool 82543 "craftsman", for sure more than 20 years ago, are lifetime warranty and I replace several times
I want to strip all the insulation off wires for metal recycling. What should I use?
I still own a pair, but after 2 years of heavy trade use ,stripping wires from 1.5 mm to 4 mm, its now pretty clapped out. I don't use anymore, because the jolt the tool gives when the insulation breaks free from the conductor, causes RSI in my wrist. Other than that they lasted longer then i thought.
Very Good Tool.
can you use this to cut .813mm (20AWG) wire?
Can you explain what is this little knob it has on top? It turns left or right.
Great instructions, but what does the little screw do at the bottom part of the left jaw?
@mrtnxter6416
10 жыл бұрын
With that screw you can adjust the press force before the tool releases and starts to pull down the insulation.
What does the knurled adjustment screw do?
Awesome
WONDERFUL.
Nice
Is left-handed version available? Cheers from Indonesia
What's the brass looking adjustment knob for?
Amazing
Neat cuts

I tested a cheap one a couple of weeks ago and it just slipped all the time. This seems to have the same problem and over time it will worsen.

If you look on aliexpress and ebay, you'll notice this crescent brand is just a chinese knock-off, the jaws aren't that sharp right from that start.
thank you bro it's so easy 👍👍
