This game is PERFECTION!! Especially the Special Edition with 8 new old tracks

My favorite PS1 racing game, so nice with the remade tracks from the previous games. This games pulls you into the zone. One hell of a drug trip!

39:42 I remember playing with my brothers, and when you use this power up, at the end of the effect it forms a wall with the floor and when an enemy touch it, dies instantly. I also remember that you can go so fast that you can reach the other players from behind and attack them.

This game was my favorite wipeout game besides 2097, the graphics were already really mega good in part 3, many beautiful tracks, where I drove over and over again. i loved it. thanks for this memory. by the way, the sounds when you pass the check point, or the selection of some weapons, are sounds from star trek next generation computer console or LCARS also called, i still celebrate that xD

P-mar project with its blossoming trees is the most beautiful track of Wip3out and also the hardest. It also has the tallest ramp, if I recall correctly.

Thanks for the great vid. I was constantly shouting at my screen for you to fire weapons behind you though!

I never played Wip3out but jeez, how sensitive is Icaras' shielding.

I certainly find it one of the hardest teams to use in Wip3out, it's handling is also quite slippery but that's the trade-off for it being one of the fastest ships!

That's what I love about the ships. They all feel so different. Icaras is the glass-canon, risk and reward kind of ship. Where Feisar is the welcoming craft that eases new players in, Icaras is about pure speed at the expense of quite literally everything else.

Great vid! This game can now run at 30 fps in Retroarch using the option to run PAL games at NTSC speeds

Surely that would speed the game up too? It's designed for games that are too slow in PAL regions @25 (e.g. Resident Evil); Wip3out SE is already full speed @25.

@@C.I... all games in PAL are 25 hz even WipEout 3 SE...this speeds it up to 30 hz

@@Alex_Power I know. But if you enable the setting, the timing is not adjusted, meaning that the game speeds up and timers run faster than normal.

Man, this game is sorta groundbreaking for one reason: The models don't wobble at all! At least, not as much as many other PS1 games.

Is there a playlis of the songs in this video?

Assegai looks so weird in Wipeout 3.

Did you choose Goteki 45 for Stanza Inter because of the opening sequence? Cause if so, that's clever. (Assuming that that is indeed the course that shows up in the opening; I've never played the game myself to tell)

Hi, to be honest I can't remember, but sometimes I do choose ships for tracks as little references to things like that so it's possible, equally though it could just be a coincidence :)

Haha I don't know, I think it might just be an interaction whilst the autopilot pickup is active and something hits you, the autopilot tries to instantly put you back on course nearly nullifying the effect of whatever hit you.

It's because he had autopilot engaged when the missile hit him. You'll notice that when playing 2097 or 3, if you attack an enemy craft, they often roll in a dramatic way. Since the autopilot in these games uses the same AI, you'll behave exactly like the AI craft when hit. Another thing to note, is that if you're eliminated while autopilot is engaged, then the elimination animation is played while your ship is still navigating the course. In 2097, I'd often mess around by enabling infinite pickups, disabling the checkpoint timer, and then reducing my health by banging into the wall. I'd turn around and wait for the missile incoming warning, and then engage autopilot. I always found it so interesting to watch the craft navigating the course perfectly, whilest simultaniously corkscrewing before finally exploding.

Do you feel input lag when you play the game by any chance?

It's been a while since I've played but I think I do recall minor input lag, but nothing too bad as far as I recall.

Use a crt tv it will eliminate most if not all lag.

The music in this game doesn't work for me, have you had this issue too?

Hi, yes I also had this problem and don't know a fix I'm afraid. For the purpose of creating this video I downloaded the music separately and had it playing in the background as I recorded.

The SE-Edition has Bugfixes, softer wall touches/crashes like in the older games and most big, some of the original courses from the first two games are included as well (but more or less remastered)
