Finally! Someone who comes to the shelter and does some work on it again! Lately alot of channels ive been watching people go to their shelter to just cook and camp, i enjoy watching people's progress on these shelters constantly. Good job my friend!!!

you show us, that a dugout in the wilderness can be well organized, clean and very comfortable. I would stay in your “home” anytime.

You take such pride in keeping you're cabin clean, even the wood burning stove is very clean. Such great care you take. Stay Blessed.

Everything is well thought out and done very neatly, the only thing I would add would be a shelf to the right of the stove for the firewood. Then you have more space on the floor and maybe put a piece of sheet metal under the stove. But amazing that you always find the shelter when everything is snowy. Good luck for the future 👍🙏

This is probably my favorite dugout shelter, because it's basically 100% underground, so if you didn't already know where it was, you'd probably never find it. If I had the money, I'd buy a huge piece of land in Northern Maine and do this.

А может вам дверь убрать и сделать хороший, широкий навес место двери. С боков можно будет хранить дрова они у вас всегда будут сухие и под рукой. Чуть повыше построить чтобы удобно было спускатся вам. А так у вас стало хорошо, сырости вроде нет как раньше было.

I don’t know how long ago I had Bone Marrow. Love, love it. A hearty Broth with lots of parsley and veggies, cooked in the soup with the Marrow Bones, before the Marrow with Bread……

Are you concerned that the snow melt later might cause the cabin to flood? I know it's tarp lied in the walls but there was some decent water collection under the floor.

sandy soil under the dugout. it absorbs water well. shouldn't flood. there would be clay - then there would definitely be water in the spring

I'm sorry I don't think I could eat bone marrow unless it was absolutely the last thing I had to eat! Yuk! However, I do love how cozy your dugout is. That was my thought too. A strong wind could bring down trees. I would want another exit. 900,000 acres of trees were flattened in the derecho in the Adirondacks in 1995.

This is awesome, a proper man cave. God I would love to be there doing that...V
