I surf fished in Argentina first week in January. Caught a few whiting, all around 17”. Seems Atlantic holds larger whiting than those we catch here in Texas.

i always fish my rod holders straight up so can get bend in rod to know if slack hit. notice you have yours on 45 i couldnt really see any bend in yours, whats strategy behind 45 vs 90 rod holder?

I've live in pompano bch. Florida for 56 yrs. They call it pompano bch. for a reason. This place use to be packed with pompano now just not like it use to be but the are still here.What part of florida are you guys in??

Actually.. whiting is better if FRIED!, But Pompano is so expensive BECAUSE, it's literally the BEST Shushimi there is!! In my, and Nany peoples opinion! I even eat a half of one without rice, soy sauce, or Wasabi.. just straight off the fish while fishing! It really doesn't even have s Fish taste! It's clean, firm and actually buttery sweet tasting!! Everyone that has tried it Love it! Then take home the rest and make traditional Shushimi, with soy sauce and Wasabi! Better than any other sushi you have ever had!! I Never Cook pompano ever anymore!!
