Winter Routines: An Enchanting Slow Life in the Rainforest

Winter is here and we want to experience every part of this beautiful, fleeting season. / motherthemountain We hike up to the mountain to find the waterfall that drops off the cliff face, flowing into the valley below. The sun is warm and we lay in its glow, before swimming in the magic pools and streams. We want to feel the shock of cold water on our skin and as the sun sets golden and pink we spend our time around a fire, enjoying the cold air on our faces and watching the moon rise. Winter has the most beautiful sunsets and the colours feel soft and hazy.
We live and farm on the land of the Arakwal and Minjungbal people of the Bundjalung Nation and these practices of regenerative living, agriculture and permaculture owe their roots and theories to Indigenous knowledge - they have been practiced by Indigenous People around the world for so many years. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Country we live on, and recognise their continuing connection to the land and waters. We thank them for protecting this rainforest and its ecosystems since time immemorial.

Hello there, I'm in Melbourne and I have started a tropical garden in this temperate climate.. As I write this it is 5c deg.. the trees struggle at this time but I dont get fruit fly. Your vids are awesome and relaxing!

-20 to 30 degrees? That’s so cold I am from the USA and in my country we have our own temperature system. 30 degrees Fahrenheit is less than 0 degrees celcius

@@jamsstats1700 Actually I said -20 to +30 C. That's about negative 5 to 90 F. With 98 % humidity our summers can be pretty hot. And our coastal winters are never as cold inland parts of Canada or many states.
