Bought a house where this pruning hadn't been done for years. Now other new areas of the plant are growing around the originals. Since it's so hard to kill. What do you do to keep it from over growing/widening in the area? Anyway to kill new growths? Thanks.

I'm new to this but you might try to dig up and divide the plant before replanting.

Hi I haved this in my home, in pots. And the leaves have browned on the edge, should I just trim the non-green leaves? I loved these plants, but not sure. They don't look healthy. I've tried bloodmeal and potash... but not sure what's best here.

Hi, I also have mine in pots,I have trimmed the same way as he has done here..looking forward to new growth..oh yes before trimming mine were looking unhealthy too,am glad I did this

I had same question

I use an electric hedge trimmer, much faster.

Push mower will do just fine or a weed Wacker if your desperate

Hedge trimmer would be messier. By cutting it in handfuls with shears he has greater control of the potential mess left by the cut foliage.

Trimmer will shred the ends, too. Scissors leaves a clean edge to the grass.
